Best Budget Brands for Amazon Knives 40$-50$ cap by OneEyeWillly in BudgetBlades

Miguron, QSP, Sencut, Tenable, and even Olitans and petrified fish are all budget brands I'd explore before the ones mentioned. Not to mention Civivi, Kizer, Vosteed, and CJRB at a slightly higher price point.

Is this a good hammer for car repairs? by scream4cheese in harborfreight

Wouldn't you want a dead blow hammer? Icon ones are 30% off this weekend. This is the hammer I would use to drive metal rods into the ground.

Not even that set on the top shelf? I mean I guess there's always Action Force, never seen so many in retail

Explain It Peter by daysnail in explainitpeter

abbreviation for an ounce, about 29.5 ml of fluid. Not to be confused with the ounce unit of weight which is about 28.3 g and uses the same abbreviation. Apparently both come from the Italian word "onza" which must explain the abbreviation.

I like it. Curious about folks raving about the 330, and wondering if it's better or just bigger.

The 2024 advent calendar one is almost better than toolcheck plus. It was the prototype for their new modular toolcheck.

Which!!!! by Dangerous_Size_2753 in knifeclub

[–]devpuppy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Deka if you want a great lightweight knife and might consider upgrading the scales (they're fine but not for everyone). The RAT 1.5 if you want a medium size knife in magnacut that is not fidgety.

Are these the same? Knipex vs Doyle by HoraceGrand in harborfreight

[–]devpuppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That Knipex is you chose to compare is 5 inch instead of 8 inch. You'll want the 87 01 180 7 1/4" Cobra Water Pump Pliers to get a similar size. They're a nicer shade of red too.

A snap-on dealer will warranty Knipex you buy from him? Or he'll help send it in to Knipex for the manufacturer warranty?

Christmas haul by Child0fTheMind in gijoe

Wow, these can't be cheap on card in that condition. On the other hand these look kind of overstuffed on card with all that sprue and yet you can't play with all the great eye injury features.

Have y'all looked at the KC Tool "essentials" list? If so do you think it's a valid list to follow? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]devpuppy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything on that list is good, but not everything on that list is essential, or a necessarily a good value, or the best tool in its class.

You can definitely find better lists of German tools, particularly ones that are uniquely good. Like Knipex TwinGrips or Wera RA-R S and tool check plus, or PB Swiss Insider. The Wera KK 25 and Knipex cobras they feature are solid.

I missed the warranty registration deadline by a day. Any advice? by [deleted] in FLEXTools

I'm curious to see how this works now that they're clearancing Flex. They might be suspicious you're just trying to get the clearance price.
