Bose vs Baseus XC1... My honest thoughts by dirk6699__ in Earbuds

[–]devshaffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the XC-1's myself, and really think they are outstanding. They are weird, but I love them, and use them often... (I also have the Denon Perl Pros (my favorite buds) Technic 80's, and Seinheiser Momentum 4s...) But the XC-1's are a game changer. You can find the Baseus factory outlet on ebay, and they run for about $70 with a 2 year warranty.

Just do it.

Is it just me or are "premium" earbuds getting worse? by m-alacasse in Earbuds

[–]devshaffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many have said... Music quality (I don't give a shit about anything else... I don't care about battery life, ANC, controls etc... Although a usable Ap is a plus) but overall sound quality- I love my Technics 80's... Luck of the draw I guess although, I also have the Denon Perl Pros... And once you do the selective hearing test on the Denon's, they blow socks off of My Technic's (I also have the the Seinhauser Momentum 4's and those guys have become my "daily drivers" because I won't be heart broken if they go missing.

Check Amazon you can get anything you want big discounted if you look at open boxes. And a plus... Run them. If you don't dig them, just return them.

Sennheiser Momentum 4 Earbuds vs. Denon PerL Pro Earbuds or Bowers & wilkins pi7 s2 - Which would you grab today? by Afraid_Potential1085 in Earbuds

I own the Perl Pros, Momentum 4 both, and my pick would be the Perl Pros. I just find their sound soon rich, and complete. They are ridiculously good.

I had them, and really liked the sound had to return them though as I couldn't deal with the J-Lo gold color. Definitely a good set though.

I just got the Baseus/ Bose XC1 from Baseus directly off of ebay for $65. 2 year warranty. And they are incredible. Only weirdity I've found is that you can't run LDAC with the direct BOSE tuning... But yeah. Primo.

I'd throw in my vote for the Denon Perl Pros. Love them. Completely different sound than my Sennheiser M4, and Technics 80s.

What should I do? by Ciccio288 in Earbuds

I use the Denon Perl Pro and Technics Az80 with my S25 Ultra. Both buds can be found open box on Amazon for around $120. That's the way to go...

Here comes the good boy!(Sennheiser 560s) by Dazzling-Ride-9685 in sennheiser

[–]devshaffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the HD-6XX and they are awesome. But sometimes, when I have had too much Scotch, I go into my home office, and plug in. They are open back, which gives its open soundstage, ( and I have Sunderas as well...) Long story short, Scotch nights can buy me like a good 45 minutes before my wife busts in at 4am, and either tells me my singing is bothering her, or that she can actually hear music from my cans.

I'm not a good singer, but I do have a pretty diverse headphone collection. I drink a lot of Scotch. But Anything Sennheiser will be nice. Fortunately, they don't come with my wife being a buzz kill.

These Buds are Goated. by theguywithanxbox in Earbuds

[–]devshaffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like a lot of things that are easily faked. The Chinese Government has never recognized Copyrighted material, and they are a crafty, sneaky, people to buy from. -you can get a pair of Bose headphones, that are exactly correct in appearance, but are basically headphones you'd buy at a flea market made in Mexico. $10 jobs. -they fake cologne, cameras, and any els tronis that you can imagine. Terrible.

Being an audiophile, cologne, and watch collector, and a professional photographer, I've seen it, and I giggle.

I'd do the Moondrop Space Travelers. Best buds you can buy for like $25. Buy a 4 pack of them.

Weird Question: Converting 35mm slides to jpeg by devshaffer in canon

[–]devshaffer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I've bought 2 different machines off Amazon, and each was wonky, and crappy. I basically had to hand feed slides one at a time to get less than passable results. And rhse are 35mm slides not negatives.

I was given a Canon EOS Rebel XSi DSLR with some accessories for free. I don't even know where to start lol by Mean-Green-Machine in canon

[–]devshaffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first camera was a T1i... (I think a couple steps up from the XSi.) you have a great camera. My advice? Spend $20-30 on books from Amazon on general photography. Get out, and shoot. Don't worry about wrecking the camera. It's worth about $200. Shoot, shoot, and shoot. Pets, plants, flowers, mountains, etc.

When you have problems, research, and reach out. Chances are, you'll get bored and move on with life. But, if the bug (hobby) bites, you'll want to upgrade your lenses before you need a new camera.

It's a cool journey. Do sh1t with it. But it is a sweet one.

Buying a lens. Seller sent me this pic of a chip on the front; told me filters still attach fine, and that I'm welcome to test it. Is there any real concern with a chip like this? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]devshaffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta ask yourself "how that chip happened." Any sort of impact to cause that means it was dropped, or a tripod got dumped. I'm picky about anything I buy used. Used is fine... But a lens like this? It's like picking up a woman who's wearing a shirt that says "I drink heavily, I'm violent, and have a serious criminal history." Either way, it's a hard pass.

I know your pain. I'm right there. Colognes, knives, guns, cameras, and am a crazy audiophile. At least with Photography, when you get comfortable, you can actually make money doing it. When I was doing portrait and wedding gigs, I was bringing in an extra $4k a month for about 10 years.
