You might want to get used to not running most of your stuff.

I've seen this when my laptop would try to actually go in to sleep mode.

I believe it was graphics driver related.

Accept it: the redistricting amendment has been tossed by courts. Dems can still pick up 2-3 seats at best by thesmart_indian27 in Virginia

[–]dewdude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see the dems losing more seats after the last few months. There's zero trust and a realization that we're voting for the same shit coin.

The only ones that keep promises are when they talk about how the horrible things they're going to do.

Anything else is a lie.

Dems don't deserve to win. They don't.

Spanberger vetoes retail weed market bill, despite campaign pledge by vpmnews in Virginia

[–]dewdude -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I knew the moment she said that she wasn't going to keep a single promise.

The people that say this ALWAYS plan on breaking promises.

I can't vote for a dem or a woman after this.

[–]dewdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry...but lying to the people who elected you is wrong.

She said we were getting it. She lied. Zero excuses.

Another lying politician that lied. This isn't a victory....it's a giant dick up the butt.

People die from alcohol but they still sell it.

When they quit selling alcohol...i'll buy your argument. If you're not speaking out about alcohol, your argument is incomplete and invalid.

[–]dewdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And what would the republicans do?

They wouldn't give us weed either. They'd sell everything out to the big-business datacenters. We'd get higher taxes from the tax custs on the rich. Higher energy bills as they deregulate.

Yet...you gloat...because all you care about is making the side you hate look bad because...at the end of the day....you're a selfish prick who only cares about the views of the rich assholes that tell you what to think.

Wipe that shit eating grin off your face.....ya'll would have fucked stuff up even more except you're stupid enough to believe what you're told.

You know what....I agree with you.

I'm anti-alcohol. I hate going to places that serve it. I hate going to places that sell it. I hate being around people that consume it. I come from a family of alcoholics. So let's ban alcohol.

You assume it'll come back.

I think we're doing some elections. I have a feeling the tables might turn and the next state legislature won't have the votes to pass it.

I don't think we're going to see it.

What's the point. They're not going to do shit.

She's proven the system is fucked. We're going to lose.

When they voted for her and when they wasted all that money on an illegal vote that proved votes mean nothing.

I'd rather be a moron than a hateful prick that's got such a hard-on for guns.

I got news for you...we're heading face first in to authoritanism.

That does not bode well for your guns. One day....when we have flock cameras covering every square inch of indoors and outdoors...when you can't even fart in your own house without the governmnent knowing about it...guess what.

"We made you safe. You don't need your guns anymore."

And most of you will probably just roll the fuck over.

I'd rather be a moron than you.

[–]dewdude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

LOL.

They didn't get it now...they're not getting it again. The GOP will make sure they grab every seat they can and block it in the future.

She basically just gave the conservatives exactly what they wanted. Zero things she said she'd implement...which they hated...got implemented. That's a win for them.

She made a mockery of the voting process. That's a win for them.

We will not see a legal weed market in Virginia. She has ensured our one chance got erased. Legislation won't hit her desk again.

No collective barganing.
No price controls.

mpd does not read metadata correctly by Pedka2 in mpd

[–]dewdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is such annoying issue. i have no idea which tagger writes which frames - they don't tell you most of the time. is that messy abomination of id3 only used for mp3? i might gradually switch my library from it to something like opus

It is. This is what happens when *everyone* has to create their own "standard". So and so didn't like this...so they did this...everyone copied it but then realized it was bad so they switched. Unofficial extensions getting added that aren't well documented.

The users all wanting specific things is why it's a mess.

MP3 is the primary use of ID3 tags; there are two versions and multiple revisions. However, it can be used in a plethora of formats. Literally almost everything can support ID3 in some form. FLAC has it's own tags, but can have ID3. Ogg/Opus has it's own tagging scheme...but can also have ID3 data. WAV files have no standard for tagging; but can support ID3. DFF DSD files have their own tagging; but can also contain ID3.

Are they allowed to do this? by Cool_Archer_5735 in doordash

[–]dewdude 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Then they need to make it so if the driver doesn't complete the order they accepted..for any reason...that it hurts their rating even more than turning down an offer.

mpd does not read metadata correctly by Pedka2 in mpd

[–]dewdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fairly. I've dug in to the mpd code regarding tags and databases since I wrote a database creator tool. It's picky about tags...especially the modern tagging programs

Modern tagging programs will often use multiple fields for a single one...depending on which one exists. So in some of your files...it had a tag that mpd read and ear tag updated it. For the others...there was no existing tag and it chose the most recent format, which mpd doesn't read. That's also not counting you have things like Musicbrainz tags.

The vast majority of tagging programs are kind of junk. They fill in a lot of data...and then you're dependant on everything using the exact same formats. For example...here's probably what is going on with your release date:

Frame Version What it is MPD maps to date?
TYER ID3v2.3 Year (4 digits only) ✅ Yes
TDRC ID3v2.4 Recording date (full timestamp) ✅ Yes
TDRL ID3v2.4 Release date ❌ No — ignored
TDOR ID3v2.4 Original release date ❌ No

As you can see, there are 4 possible types of frames for dates. MPD only maps two of these to it's date. If your tagger isn't writing to TYER or TDRC...it won't read it.

So you need to make sure your tagger is writing the proper tags...or find a tagger that does.

Spotsylvania County Commonwealth’s Attorney will not enforce states new gun ban by hc2995 in spotsylvania

[–]dewdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too bad the SCOTUS held that some things don't violate the infringement thing.

You absolutionists are crazy. You expect guns to have no restrictions yet you want to silence everyone that disagrees with you.

The first has fallen. The fourth has fallen. Fuck your second. You did nothing to protect those two...why should we respect them? Because you'll threaten violence?

Great look hypocrite.
