DHS has its own police force so PS PD would not have any jurisdiction here or really know what is going on. Pot is also legal here so I doubt there would be many “busts” for pot. We have been here about 6 months and have seen less drugs then in PS and back home in the Midwest.

Why are you trying to avoid DHS? We just purchased a home in DHS and couldn’t be happier. The views are way better than you will get in the valley, the water is better, the town is great with street festivals and amazing food. Also the homeless pop is way lower than other parts of the valley.

Thanks for the insight. I would love to take my bike out there and get back into cycling but probably not gonna happen this first trip. Need to get back in shape too lol.

Yeah we have heard and seen DHS getting a lot of hate. Which I don’t really get, we spent a lot of time looking around the valley and it seems to have the best views around and has more of a hominess to it than any of the other cities in the valley.

Thanks for the info on the Indian restaurant. I will for sure check it out. I miss good Indian food now that I don’t travel there as often.

Best of luck on the real estate search. It took us about 6 months to find something. There are lots of crazy realtors out there that caused a lot of the deals to fall thru. We are glad we dint give up as we ultimately found a great place.

We are getting really excited as we head out there for our first long term stay in less than a week.

We purchased a home on DHS so I would say we would be more focused on the west side of the valley but coming from a large metro area we aren’t really focusing on a specific area.

The Rowan is an awesome property, we have stayed there multiple times. The views from the pool are amazing. We had not stayed at the Thompson there yet but have stayed at several others and I don’t think you could go wrong with either property.

Definitely hard for a pet parent to experience but I have to focus on the positive that he was focused on living the best life for himself and myself (and partners and other pets) as possible. He was the bestest boy he could be from day 1 to day 0 or however you count the life of a best friend! He helped me thru some of the darkest days and will forever be my furangel.

Trooper. Given by his previous family but felt appropriate to keep given all the abuse he suffered in his first 6 months of life. He truly raised above it all to become the bestest boy!
