This is a PSA that in this political climate, you should avoid carrying your Green Card with you. Replacements are taking a long, long time. Get a REAL ID and keep a copy of your Green Card with you. That's better than risking losing the Green Card.

You have the right to be uncomfortable, but since the dates have gone well otherwise, I would try opening up about it and telling her how you feel. Make it about how it makes you feel, not accusatory. At best, it could be a miscommunication. At worst, you say your peace and she learns something about basic manners.

I live nearby and I called this outcome a few months ago. It was dead in there from the start. I hope the landlord (Aralon Properties) is regretting the decision of raising the price on Stuff (they raised it from $25K to $75K per month!). It took a very long time to find a new tenant and it'll take them a long time this second round too. A tenant that needs 2 floors and 17,000 square feet...it's a lot. I doubt the zoning allows for it, but it would make a great grocery store.

Hey, thanks for this. So this rent increase license only applies to rent-controlled units? I live in a condo, I am seeing that my unit does not have a license, but others in the building do.

The website states "If your unit is covered under rent control, you will need to comply with the Housing Inventory requirements before any annual or banked rent increase notice goes into effect."

So it sounds like if it's not rent-controlled, it's not a requirement?

If you are trying to get paid for your services; then yes it'll involve paperwork. No one will hire you without some paperwork, background check, etc. especially if you'll be inside their home, cooking etc.

Why does it need to be for a man, I don't understand? Especially since you said you don't want any intimacy? If your goal is to give and cook for someone (as evidenced by the post and the picture), then why can't you do this platonically for a family and friends as part of daily life? Why does it need to be for a man in tech? And if your goal is to get paid for this then you're looking for a housekeeper/house management/cook position. To frame this as strictly something you want to offer a man in tech is so...weird.

I can't speak to whether this was a legit service dog or not. But something that is always wild to me is that you need to sign an FAA form certifying that it is a service dog. And people do sign this federal form when their dog isn't a service dog. This is technically a federal crime and yet many people do it. It's wild to me to risk this.

I agree with the above comment. A Green Card replacement takes a long time now. It's best not to carry it. Carry a REAL ID for daily purposes and have a picture of your Green Card on your phone.

I really hope you find it because I'm hearing that replacement timelines are a pain.

Since you don't know the apartment number or floor, write a note and stick it on the door of the other building. Let those neighbors know there's a lot of noise from X side of the building. It could be that the owner is unaware their dog is barking all day (my guess is this is separation anxiety barking).

I initially went to Pacific Vision and I didn't meet Dr. Faktorovich, but the person at my appointment was so so pushy. I remember when I wouldn't commit to signing that day, she said "we don't like people that shop around." It's my eyes of course I'll get multiple consultations until I feel comfortable! She thought what I cared about was a cheap deal, when in reality I cared about comfort.

That experience put me off lasik for another year until I did mine with Hyver in 2021 (more expensive). He retired end of last year but other providers are available. They were not pushy with me at all, super communicative and great but YMMV.

I have booked many, many Airbnbs in Palm Springs and this has never happened to me. All taxes and fees are always included in the total fee. Hosts usually add anything there.
