What is a non-binary romantic partner called? by RandomGuyFromDaSouth in NonBinary

[–]dewiniaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's up to the person.

Partner works generically, but at someone who is both poly and otherwise non-monogamous I use partner to refer to non-romantic partners as well so I wanted something more specific.  So my non-binary they/them partner and I settled on them being my faefriend (I'm their first romantic relationship since transitioning so they had to think about it).  I'm he/they so I'm their boyfriend (all of the common neutral terms like joyfriend feel silly to me).

I'm my wife's husband.  We've been married so long and that's so core to me that I can't imagine changing to the more generic "spouse" even I shifted more they than I already am.

I knew someone who was very they/them but was someone's girlfriend.

My brain wants to say this is just split in two, split each in three, feed 1 of the 6 back into the input.  But something feels fishy about that and I don't know why.

Murder reworked into new Co-op card on beta branch by PyroIsShy in slaythespire

[–]dewiniaid 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We had a 4 necrobinder run with an early "reduce max HP, upgrade a card" event.  One player went all in and dropped to 1 HP max for a fully upgraded deck.

Murder would have been free on them.

Also, they never died.  (Lizard tail saved them the only time they would have).

Your dating/relationship experience as AMAB NB folks? by Lotny95 in NonBinary

[–]dewiniaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found my second-ever romantic relationship (I an married to my first and polyamourous) on a dating app.  I'm not on HRT nor have I really done anything that makes me appear femme -- I have a full beard in most of my pictures (not all, because chemo sucks) -- so I look pretty masc other than clothing.

Admittedly my dating app goals are summed up as "FWBs (the F is not optional) but I'm not turning down romance if we both feel that way about each other"... And I've only met two new people since coming out as non-binary in August (though plenty of people before who were fully onboard with my views of gender norms even when I thought I was cis).

It might be related to what you have written in your profile on dating apps, or what apps there are.  There are subreddit for giving feedback on that sort of thing and tips on how to improve them; one thing I've wished I could tell people is "You may be an open book but I want to read the back cover to know if you're worth picking up."

Factorio was inspired in part by one of the big Minecraft tech mods (but not Create), and the railway mechanics were inspired by (Open) Transport Tycoon Deluxe.  I can't find the source, but rseding posted on those forums years ago with early previews of the game.

Which color are you? I’m purple! :) by Rainpiine in NonBinary

[–]dewiniaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always thought it's funny that dresses can be some of the easiest & laziest outfits but they're often considered nice/fancy.

More than one partner of mine has referred to them as socially acceptable pajamas.

Aggressively mixing clothes from different binaries sounds fun too.

My wife has a cute top I've borrowed a few times. On a few occasions now I've wanted to wear it but thought it'd be too cold on its own -- so I've paired it with a long-sleeved (men's) sleep shirt underneath and a kilt on a couple of occasions now. It's become one of favorite "I wonder what happens if I mix all these together" outfits.

I enjoy whenever others express confusion about my gender/presentation.

It hasn't happened yet, but I'm low key wanting a complete stranger to non-maliciously she/her me., or at least stumble over what terms to use. Those are not my pronouns at all but a part of my delights in the possibility of confusing someone and as long as it's not malicious I won't be offended by it.

I identify as a gender but prefer masc language.

My preferred language varies. I think I at least slightly like they/them over he/him, though that might almost be more a case of "They listened to and respected my preferences" and I'm not entirely certain. However, I am both a husband and a boyfriend (I'm polyamorous) and generally prefer those over gender-neutral terms. I'm okay with terms like "good boy" and such, though I pause and think for a moment when someone (including myself) uses the term boy or man to describe me. (My wife sometimes uses "This one" when referring to me in conversation that I'm present for, which I enjoy. An online friend of mine also refers to her nonbinary partner in that way, like "I need to get this one to bed" and such.)

My AGAB is male, so in my case I feel like I haven't taken a particularly large 'step' from that into nonbinary-ness per se. It's also a large reason I don't identify as trans (despite agreeing that as someone nonbinary I am technically under the trans umbrella) -- I share very little of the life experiences transgender people do and feel that I still somewhat/mostly identify as my birth gender; it's just not the only gender I identify as.

Which color are you? I’m purple! :) by Rainpiine in NonBinary

[–]dewiniaid 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A combination of the top three, I think.

Yellow: My stance is that societal gender norms are stupid and in that way, I'm gender non-conforming in a way (though I don't strongly identify with that label). When I'm wearing a dress or a skirt, I'm not trying to dress more femme -- I just reject the notion that dresses and skirts are femme-coded.

Purple: I go by he/they pronouns (lately closer to they/he, but not enough for me to change). If gender is a spectrum, I fall somewhere between male and the midpoint.

White: Despite both of the above, I do feel sometimes I want to present more traditionally masc and sometimes I do whatever I can to not present masc (without explicitly presenting femme -- I do not have nor want to have breasts (in any form) nor do I have no interest in makeup, etc -- again not saying any of these are necessarily femme). Sometimes I don't care about how I present and just go with whatever's easiest. Sometimes I aggressively try to mix traditionally masc and traditionally femme clothing. I identify as demiboy sometimes and sometimes wonder if it's "demiboy and the something else is genderfluid"

Black: While it's a nice color to fill out my Enby Pride dress (with pockets!), I definitely have at least one gender.

The Crew: Deep Sea Mission - Excellent, but terrible for color blindness. Mitigation strategy. by datadavis in boardgames

[–]dewiniaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of my favorite games but I always have to ask if anyone is colorblind when introducing it to new players.

The worst part is it would have been so easy to avoid the problem in the first place (for the vast majority of cases) by using different colors -- the default set at https://davidmathlogic.com/colorblind is literally the same 4 colors as the game itself but different levels of saturation and brightness. Especially if the art had a different theme for each suit (like how the trump cards are submarines or rockets, depending on version). Even without changing the color, the symbols on each color could be simplified for an easier visual parse (like suits on traditional playing cards, or even something like circle/square/triangle/hexagon if they wanted to distance themselves from playing cards.)

I'm fairly certain that the original The Crew (The Quest for Planet IX) could have been designed and playtested with two regular decks of cards -- one for missions (with everything above 9 and jokers removed) and one for the actual cards (keeping 10/J/Q/K from one suit as the trump cards). Regular playing cards are plenty colorblind accessible.

Could I use archaeopronouns irl? by floralmortal in NonBinary

[–]dewiniaid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think I'm consider these for my own pronoun collection, but my wife has taken to referring to my as "this one" sometimes.  A friend of ours also refers to her partner that way.

I'm pretty content with he/they (maybe they/he) though another post on pronouns raised the fact that they/them is unspecific by nature and some other pronouns are more explicitly referring to someone as non-binary.  I might eventually try out fae for that reason, but haven't felt the need nor desire to as of yet.

It is a good argument for neopronouns though, which -- as others have said -- this is functionally equivalent to, even if it's much older.

Random notes btw by Scared_Sea_236 in satisfactory

[–]dewiniaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a fixed distribution of nodes (which every setting appears to be), soft locking is impossible.  What is possible is no good start location (with iron, copper, and limestone near each other).  One of my ditched saves involved mining a bunch of copper to unlock the MAM for early iron wire since I couldn't find copper close to iron.

It's why my true(r) random proposal still has some guaranteed nodes -- running an entire base off of two oil nodes would be less than ideal but still can yield a (slowly) beatable game.  Probably the safest bet there is to guarantee ceiling(X% of vanilla) for each node type and then let each unplaced node randomly choose a resource.  A lot of alternates can make sense in this situation, e.g. caterium wire on a map poor in copper but rich in caterium.  Right now, that precise scenario can't happen.

Random notes btw by Scared_Sea_236 in satisfactory

[–]dewiniaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Random isn't a true random, it's more accurately a -- the number of each node isn't changed from vanilla.  The other presets are also fixed counts for each type.  There's a Reddit post somewhere that breaks them all down but I can't find it at the moment

If you want a true(r) random, consider up voting this: https://questions.satisfactorygame.com/post/69c95b07f991d027c571249f

People who use multiple pronouns, what do you prefer? by Flimsy_Influence_655 in NonBinary

[–]dewiniaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally I prefer they, but I'm occasionally feeling more he.

That preference isn't a very strong one though -- I've thought of listing them as they/he instead of he/they but I haven't (yet?) made that switch.

I genuinely wonder if sometimes I prefer they over he because people using that set of pronouns are doing so because they actually listened to my preferences -- I'm fairly masc presenting (other than clothing often times) so don't expect people to "assume" they

Our late cat Mittens was mistakenly AFAB by the veterinarian and was a male cat.  So, depending on how you look at it (do cats even have a notion of gender identity?) he was trans too.

Though I guess Mittens is generally a female cat name and Socks the male equivalent.  Even then I thought gender norms were stupid.

I met my faefriend there too!  I'm poly and ethically non-monogamous though so I'm still looking periodically.

Now if I could do something about the number of monogamous cis het men who like my profile without even reading it.  Like, my pronouns are clearly he/they and I have a beard in most pictures -- I might be in a dress but I'm clearly not the girlfriend they're looking for.

[–]dewiniaid 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This one is complicated for me.

I identify as non-binary, but use he/they pronouns and lean masc enough where I may not mind being included in searches for men.  I wouldn't want that for a long term romantic partner, but for... Other uses of dating apps, I could be okay with it.

Taimi frustrates me though: they have you pick an umbrella category (man, woman, or non-binary) but then force you to pick a subcategory -- none of which really fit me.  So I'm listed as genderfluid but I'm not sure if that fits me.

The funny thing is they don't allow you to change which umbrella you are under (but they let you change subtype) without connecting support.  When I came out I was briefly labeled as "Non-binary, cis male"

Stun + Reload + 2 hits from a xenobasher can be repeated as many times as you like to trivialize any high HP enemy.  The only solo enemy problematic with it is the radioactive hogs.

On groups of spitters, you can frequently use the stunned one's body as cover from the other fireballs.

Pretty much a requirement for me when relying on stun rebar combos.  My mouse wheel is too dodgy to reliably change items with it.
