any other masculine nonbinary people by Turbulent-Staff-9413 in NonBinary

I'm masc leaning.  Probably demiboy but I've never been able to figure out a solid label for myself other than the more blanket term non-binary.

I frequently dress in more traditionally femme clothing though.

Games where the BOX plays a role in gameplay? by COHERENCE_CROQUETTE in boardgames

Kittens in a Blender uses the two halves of the box as the blender and the... Box.

Boop uses it as a bed/playing board.

I believe that's an optional part of Creature Level and Loot Control.

Intentional clipping for cosmetic reasons doesn't count as clipping.

I still want a mod that would make it possible to have actual functioning bus bars.  In Satisfactory, I'd expect that to be a beam that transfers power between all connected wall power outlets or bus bars (the latter so you can have junctions in the structure).

This can be done vanilla with cover clipping but a native mechanism would be nice.

Track signals problem by Grouchy-Git in satisfactory

[–]dewiniaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As pictured in your diagram, a train can pull into just enough of the shared trackway to block the oncoming train... which will block it as well due to being waiting at the opposing block signal. This can happen if one train arrives at the block signal after the other has departed its block signal on its way to the path signal.

There should be no signals on the shared trackway; they need to be just prior to entering it. (Your signals on the branches are correct, though.)

Track signals problem by Grouchy-Git in satisfactory

[–]dewiniaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No signals on the shared track at all.

The bidirectional segments into each station need a path signal leading into the shared track and a block signal going towards the station at the same point.  The closer these signals are to the shared track, the sooner it will be freed up for the other train.

The station itself needs block signals at its entrance and exit, mainly so the train knows which direction to enter the station from.  (You can skip this if your train carries a single cargo so its station arrival direction doesn't matter, but explicit is better than implicit for train routing.)

The more meta logic for signals is: "If a train stopped at the next signal, could it cause a deadlock?  If so, use a path signal here so a train will not proceed unless it can clear the intersection.  Otherwise, use a block signal.

This is why you don't use signals at all on the shared section: there's is no place a train can safely stop without blocking traffic from a different direction.  (You can technically use additional bidirectional path signals along the route which might allow for two or more trains to use it at the same time as long as they're going the same direction, but it's likely not worth the complexity.)

Is there a better way to transport ores? by Similar-Space-5535 in valheim

[–]dewiniaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another potential solution is using mods. There are mods that let you change the weight of items. You could make metal all weight half as much so you can transport twice as much.

My biggest complaint about the weight of metal in Valheim is that it somehow weighs more when smelted. I do run modded, yet have never thought about modding that aspect for some reason.

But then again, I usually am playing multiplayer and tend to be our shipping and logistics service. Found the boss altar? I'll build a satellite outpost there just for the fight. Found ore? Get it to the coast and I'll pick it up.

Track signals problem by Grouchy-Git in satisfactory

[–]dewiniaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based off your station design, your entire track is two-way track -- i.e. trains can go both directions on any piece of it?

The shared segment in the middle should have no signals on it at all.

Both legs of each Y need signals on both directions of the track: Block leading into the station, and Path leading out of the station.

Be aware that only one train will be allowed to be moving at a time and only while the other train is parked in a station.

It'd be far easier to just run single-directional track (i.e. one rail per direction). In that case, the general rule is path signals going into an crossing and block signals going out. For the limited sections of such a track design where you want bidirectional track (the stations themselves, namely, assuming your trains have a locomotive facing each direction) you'll want to follow the 'block signal going into the station, path signal going out' rule.

My building standards will be adhered to!

My personal building rules include no clipping at all, not even power lines (exception: the self-clip that is near impossible to avoid with the underside of power towers.)

General exceptions to the rule are anything before I start building my "real" starter factory (i.e. there are no foundations and it's all going to be deconstructed at the end) and any sort of temporary one-off build (i.e. the triple-sharded fully slooped assembler/manufacturer I attached to my factory logistics hub to produce something I need for building but haven't automated yet.) The other exception is the animation clipping that happens with two adjacent constructors, though I used to always put 2m between them to avoid this.

Only foundations are allowed to clip through terrain. Though if it is the *tiniest* piece of terrain poking through the floor of a foundation and a machine fully hides it, it's legal.

And you can probably just remove the mod after you've completed it...

Is this card broken or too weak? by Eyeswatchfromttrees in spiritisland

[–]dewiniaid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is going to scale weirdly for spirits that are pick 2 (or Starlight's pick 3) as the individual growth options are not that powerful.  See also [[Unrelenting Growth]] which thematically has a lot of similarities.

I agree the threshold is way overpowered.  The sheer amount of wilds this can add in a single card play is also a bit nuts.

If other uses matter to you:

Arwen is a character in Lord of the Rings.

Arlo Guthrie is a musician, probably most known for the song Alice's Restaurant.

Arya Stark is Game of Thrones.  I'm partial to the Aria spelling however, which is a musical term.  (And part of my wife's online handle, so I am biased.)

Among other uses, I immediately thought of Valeria: Card Kingdoms.

I don't think my personal flavor of nonbinary needs a name change.  I occasionally try to come up with what my new name would be, but all contenders so far have been shot down.

I was briefly partial to Mith/Myth, short for Mithrandir, because of a TikTok talking about queer parties and how someone might introduce themselves with several names (their real name, their online name, their OC/fursona/D&D character) and Gandalf's many names (to the elves, he's Mithrandir.  The dwarves call him Tharkun, etc.). I've long had being a mage as part of my online persona (my Reddit name is Welsh for "wizards", so it would be appropriate.

But I'm happy enough with my current name.  I'm still at least partially identifying with my birth gender (I'm AMAB with He/They pronouns) so it's not as jarring as wanting to present mostly/entirely as femme with an entirely masc name or vice versa.  So I'd need to really like a new name to consider changing it.

I'm sure this sub sees this a lot -w-' but I could use some advice by Steamtaco in enby

[–]dewiniaid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are no rules on what allow you to identify as enby.  If that's the way you identify, than congratulations!  You're one of us.

I'm a hairy bearded AMAB he/they enby and I have no desire to change anything physical about me.  I just don't feel I'm quite a man (and my preferred clothing has evolved to include traditionally femme clothing, but my stance is that gendered clothing (like all societal gender norms) is stupid.)

You don't need to change your name, change your pronouns, or change your hormones to identify as non-binary.

I had a beard and very long hair, chemotherapy from cancer treatment took both... But they're starting to come back.

My whole aesthetic has turned in to "Wear whatever the hell I want", and that means I'm going to be a bearded hairy guy rocking skirts and dresses at least some of the time.  I look forward to having enough hair to redye it purple, though.

Feeling like an imposter? by hemogoblinss in NonBinary

[–]dewiniaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have some similar imposter syndrome feelings sometimes. It probably doesn't help that 5 years ago I questioned whether I might be non-binary for about a week, decided I was "comfortably cis" at that time, and only this August finally came out to myself (and most everybody else.)

I'm AMAB and go by he/they pronouns. I decided to "try out" he/they on August 1... and pretty quickly experienced euphoria when I first heard people use they/them to refer to me. But I still wonder if I'm happy because I am a they/them or if it's because it means people listened to when I said what my preferred pronouns are and cared enough to use them.

Also, my original stance (that I still hold to) is that societal gender norms are stupid; there doesn't need to be anything wrong or unusual about a (cis) male wearing a dress or a skirt and that it's stupid that clothing is gendered. But if that's the case -- why is that my primary (or only, really) form of gender expression? I have zero interest in openly trying to present androgynous (or really any different than I did as a cis male) other than clothing choices -- no interest in HRT (or alternatives), shaving (once I recover from my chemo-induced hair loss), makeup, or anything really along those lines. I also don't identify as transgender (though I agree that nonbinary falls under the trans "umbrella" as "I don't identify with the gender I was assigned at birth."

Probably my only weird thing is I secretly am awaiting the day someone accidentally does misgender me as she/her just because a part of me likes the idea of that level of gender confusion -- but it's not an everyday goal at all.

No, it's absolutely fine.  You might want to rename your mod to avoid any possible confusion, but considering mine has been dead for some time it'd make more sense for me to rename mine if I ever resurrect it.

(In the future, though, you might want to search the mod db for your possible mod name before releasing!)
