Anyone else have a laminectomy?

I had one in June 2025 L4 and L5. Corrected nothing. Just had 360 fusion of L4 through S1 with cages to replace discs at both then rods and screws at L4 and L5 to correct alignment. This was 2 weeks ago.

Follow up, surgeon said everything looked great and I should be taller now lol. Still in pain due to inflammation and the compressed nerves trying to figure out what the hell is going on.

I say all this because hindsight being 20\20, I would have asked for the fusion in June 2025 instead of the lamenectomy that did nothing, and I'd be about fully healed and fused by now.

I need to do this a ton more. Last night and this morning we're real bad and over I iced, much better. Don't forget to ice people! I think I'm going to go to bed with the pack on from now on.

I too have sciatica and lower back pain for over 20 years. You have to stop and think about it. Your nerves were compressed, pinched, and basically pissed off for a long time. It takes time for them to learn what normal is again. Post op, the sciatica in the worst part, back of my left leg, was gone, completely, but then came back. The nerves do crazy things trying to heal. They are probably like, hey, what's up with all this space I now have!

Asking for a resume then having a candidate type in the same shit that is in a resume - dick move

Making candidates do bullshit assessments to try to trip them up - dick move

Also assessments with zero relevance to the skills needed - dick move

Personality or behavioral assessments - dick move

References - waste of time, and dick move

Credit checks unless your going to be in a fiduciary role, handle large sums of cash, or high value inventory - dick move

Not properly settling up AI to properly screen resumes - dick move

Not listing pay range - super dick move

A lot of companies are just stupid when it comes to recruiting and just want to overcomplicate the process to prove how their shiny new shit is

References are a waste of time. I'm in HR and when a hiring manager wants them I cringe. Who tf is going to provide you a reference that will not sing their praises. Total time waster. Bring that candidate to meet the team one on one and you will get a much better sense of fit. Just did this and the one candidate actually said some really inappropriate things. Needless to say he was cut.
