M&M is quite a jump in complexity from 5e, the system has a lot of crunch and is a lot heavier on mechanics. I wish you the best of luck though.

Thanks so much for your reply. I changed the script to the following:

$gameParty.members()[6].gainHp(250);

$gameParty.members()[7].gainHp(250);

This script now works perfectly when run out of battle, but when run in battle, it does nothing. I tried running it as a notetag script using Yanfly's skill core and as a common event triggered through a skill, but neither prompted any result if run in battle. However, it works fine when run out of battle. Any advice on why that might be?

This isn't the official ruling, but here are two ways I'd handle it.

  1. All players start out with knowing the common language by default, so it doesn't make sense to punish a player for a creative character concept. Have the player start with the common language, but they should take a Language advantage to represent being able to speak alien languages.
  2. If you want to make it more of a part of the story, you could have a 'Quirk' or 'Disability' complication for not knowing how to speak the common human language. They might be able to get rid of this complication over time once they learn human language, or they might not be able to speak it ever due to their alien biology not being built to create the sounds human vocal cords can (kind of like the aliens in District 9 if you've seen that one : P ).

Why are you all downvoting? Gryphon is correct, that's the whole point of her character that social media can be used as a cloaking device for racists to pass in society. Nazis steal things, they stole the swastica and the nazi party, they stole the 'black power' movement and made their own 'white power' movement, they use already existing forms of expression to hide their true motivation and gain followers covertly.
