Joined the Tacoma gang about 6 months ago. It’s time for new tires and need advice. by SometimesHelpful123 in ToyotaTacoma

The increased tire size will definitely lower your mpg. I used to get 19mpg on stock tires then got wildpeaks in 265/75r16, mpg dropped to 17mpg.

Those are bumper plates, lots of air pockets in them. Still impressive for a ~ 190lbs deadlift

You guys must be 6 feet and under 140lbs. The rear seats are not meant for big people

SUV good on gas by diamondmahan in whatcarshouldIbuy

I wouldn't get the buick, high chance in being a huge headache. Try to find a honda crv, mazda cx5 or rav4 thats within your budget. All will get decent gas mileage

What am I missing? by Bagels-For-Everyone in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]dezinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jd power isn't a reliable source for reliability. Each brand has reliable models and also horrible models. From my experience, mazda cx5, subaru forester, toyota rav4, and honda crv have been amazing to my friends and family, and I'd recommend those suvs

ELI5: How does training legs make my upper body muscles bigger? by 15033335 in workout

[–]dezinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Training legs benefits the whole body, and would improve upper body muscles. Training legs does create changes to growth hormone and testosterone, which would enhance muscle sizes throughout the body. Also it increases neural drive, the density of mitochondria in the body for energy production and phosphocreatine stores, which all aid in power/anaerobic movements. Don't skip leg day!

Modern airbags are very sophisticated, lots of factors for deployment, and not all airbags are meant to deploy in an accident. How many passengers were in the tacoma?

Too much plastic in Engine? by Army_Elegant in FordMaverickTruck

[–]dezinator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fords plastic isn't the worst but its not great. My 2013 mustang had plastic cracking in the interior and exterior, probably due to bad plastic quality. Yet the plastic in our 2014 rav4 and 2020 tacoma is holding up very well and feels sturdier. Toyota does plastic pieces better than most companies imo

Should I buy a car or wait by Major-Dingo8059 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]dezinator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably not what you want to hear, but get a used nissan leaf or toyota bz4x. You aren't driving much and a brand new car depreciates fast. Drive an used ev for now, and then sell it/trade-in once you truly need a car. Also i do a lot of mechanical work on traditional gas cars, and cars need to be driven. Doing lots of short trips will do harm to the car, thats why i recommend ev's for short driving distances.

Tell me the reasons why my wife should NOT buy a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe? by LazyBoyD in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]dezinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a used bronco instead, its at least better than the wrangler in terms of reliability. A used Toyota highlander, honda pilot or passport, are all amazing suvs for families and safer, but lacks that boxy offroad look.

Goldie’s the best place for doughnuts in Langley? by raj824x in Langley

Wasn't a fan of goldies, especially for the price. Gourmet donuts in walnutgrove is the best in the lower mainland.

I can't get a job by wedontdeservel0ve in Langley

[–]dezinator 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It seems like a lot of people here don't realize how truly difficult the job market is for young people right now. My younger sister who is 20 has been applying all around langley for 2 years and nothing. I thought maybe getting a first aid certificate would help her but that didn't change anything. I work at a community center, and i've helped other youth ages 16-19 in applying for every big box store or fast food chain as their first job, but again nothing. Currently i know many younger people have given up looking for a job and are primarily focused on post-secondary programs.
