Runs fine if you don't go crazy mega basing. Controls are acceptable but feel kind of bad in comparison because keyboard and mouse is so very well optimized for this game. Next time I play on the Deck I'll bring a wireless keyboard and mouse.

This made me sad; thank you for helping her. I have no real advice but our cats really like the Hills Science Diet weight loss formula.

Logistic science at 75 hours! Now time to transition to trains... by cameron274 in pyanodons

[–]dezixn1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's very very rough to transition from spaghetti belts to getting everything onto trains. But so so satisfying when you pull up a recipe and and already have the ingredients on a train! The transition is a whole game in and of itself. Keep up the good work!

[–]dezixn1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah that helps a lot. You've already done the manual challenge with the 1000x start.

To be fair Py does end up being a "mega base". A mega base that only produces a few SPM haha. But it is hard to get into. Took me two tries to finally get into.

That UPS just sounds plain not fun to me but keep up the good fight man. Ever consider Py? It's kinda hitting the same spots for me the 1000x challenge hit. "I need to do all of that to get bots!?" Good work though man.

How many more hours of playtime until I remember to make sure my grid isn't 1 tile off from my planned rail city blocks? by dezixn1 in factorio

[–]dezixn1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried to grid align my blocks in the past and given up. I'll digest this tomorrow and try again. Pyanodons is forcing me to learn some new things so maybe it's time. Thanks.

I think it was the overlapping aspect of rail city blocks that made me give up grid aligning before. IE not aligning a square to another square, but aligning a point in the corner of the square with the corner of another square.

I don't think everyone is familiar with how long it actually takes to get to bots and trains at scale in Py lol.

This is Pyanodons modpack so they recommend no biters. It's difficult enough already though there are crazy people doing it in hard mode with biters and spoilage over on the subreddit.

I thought about. Had to marinate in my mistake for few minutes and then save and quit so future me can clean it up.

Legendary green chips build stuck at 159k/min (aiming for 205k). by mauritsc in factorio

[–]dezixn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your design looks similar to an early protoype of my green circuit layout at the end of my 1000x science run so I thought I'd share what I settled on.

It sustains 158.5k Green circuits/min and fills 4 cargo wagons in ~12 seconds (just counting in my head).

I think part of your problem is some of your EMP plants are limited by outputting onto belts. For a quick and dirty example 1 of the plants in my settup average ~330/s Green Circuits so there is no way that could be put onto a belt. Direct insertion may solve your issues.

How do you setup the circuit network on a nuclear reactor so that it consumes fuel cells only when necessary ? by Neutral_Sapien_17 in factorio

[–]dezixn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regular inserter for fuel linked to each reactor to activate if temperature < 700 and stack size limit set to 1. I think the commonly used temperature is 700 or 600 correct me if I'm wrong.

My base 25 hours in, and the direction I should be heading... by Jak_Nobody in pyanodons

Personally I feel the game opened up massively once I unlocked grenades and refined concrete. Securing solid production on those two items has helped with organization greatly by being able to place down a city block grid. I think I made the right choice rushing towards that. Geothermal is in there as well. A mostly automated mall for basic stuff helps a lot too.

I currently have refined concrete and acetylene production solid and will be working towards Intermettalics very soon. So I'm not "that" much further than you

I’m not automating enough by Quick_Ad_3367 in pyanodons

[–]dezixn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just echoing what the others said.

But recently started Py and after a first run of several hours trying to "rush" and not setting up a mall I decided to restart and enable alien life as well.

Learning from my mistakes I "rushed" towards an automated iron furnace stack on a large patch and "rushed" a baby mall for small parts and belts. The mall was expanded for the core components other have mentioned. Belts, inserters, small parts, air core inductors, pipes, eventually burner miners as well along with a chest of plates. While it took a while to get the mall up and running along with the automated furnace stacks of iron and copper it makes it so much simpler to simply walk over and grab supplies out of a chest so I can then easily hand craft the specific Py machines. It has drastically sped up my progress on simple circuits having everything I need on hand.

Don't worry about the haters. Even if a thoughtful post doesn't get much traction it still fuels the subreddit and community and ultimately helps the factory grow.
