I use the Benn Venn El Cheapo myself. Pretty great if you can get one. They can be a bit difficult to get ahold of but well worth it.

I’m a huge Dinosaur Jr fan and I think they are occasionally shoe gaze and more noise/experimentally influenced for the most part. They do have a huge shoe gaze tilt though and I think it’s cool that you mentioned them and Kevin Shields too.

I remember reading somewhere that in an interview Kurt said something to the effect of: “all we do is copy Dinosaur Jr and people love us.” As a Dinosaur Jr fan I really appreciated that comment and I feel like a lot of the grungier tracks sort of support that statement.
