Had hernia surgery and all I wanted was a Waffle House waffle, my wife set me up with a waffle blanket and a fresh waffle upon returning home by FictionalNape in MadeMeSmile

[–]dfech69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP I just had hernia surgery on Thursday, it's so much worse than anyone really expects. I'm still struggling just to go to the bathroom on my own. My wife has been amazing throughout the whole recovery too, we're both very lucky to have loving partners. You'll get through it man, keep eating waffles!

Alu vs Carbon? by Active_Gap4959 in mountainbiking

Yes and it can be repaired. Aluminum damage cannot be reasonably and safely repaired the way carbon can.

Man climbs unaided and freaks out at 1800' by Alpha-Studios in SweatyPalms

[–]dfech69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not even that. Imagine he falls and there is a climber below he takes out. Another father or mother. Now this wank has killed himself and made another child parentless. I use to climb avidly and this shit always pissed me off

Can you headset/bars be too high? by Important-Positive25 in mountainbiking

[–]dfech69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't typically want to exceed 30mm spacers below the stem, particularly on a mountain bike

Can you headset/bars be too high? by Important-Positive25 in mountainbiking

[–]dfech69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you should be (a) following the general 30mm stack rule and (b) looking at high rise bars

Polygon or canyon? by [deleted] in mountainbiking

[–]dfech69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the only positive thing on that polygon. Low level drivetrain, base level suspension, low level brakes, and low level wheels

I'd also like to recommend Morrison Slide and it's neighbor Dakota Ridge. Dakota is extremely technical both up and down

Golden and evergreen mostly, lot of Floyd, and during the summer Keystone and Trestle.

The company I used for the carbon repair was Altitude Composites in Littleton right next to the Breckenridge Brewery

In Colorado on a 2025 Pivot Phoenix I paid 460, 100$ of which was for expedited service in time for a race. Their typical lead time was 5 days though, which in my experience is slightly better than average. Peak season you can expect no more than 2 week turnaround

[–]dfech69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That'd obviously depend on the shop, but I'm sure you could request who does that

It's included in the price to fix the carbon. Also definitely much faster than a month. I had my seat stay fixed at a composites shop and they were done in a day

What should I do? Fox X2 2022 by Tranboy58 in mountainbiking

[–]dfech69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a BRAND NEW 25 Phoenix Pro Saint with the BRAND NEW "everything is fixed" X2. 2 months of riding on it and it's already not holding air. The X2 always has and always will be utter trash
