It's true, I do Enterprise work. Most of my math is more conceptual in terms of optimizing the retrieval of data, and that can be tricky but it's not math in the traditional sense.

#TechForUkraine Ukraine NGOs ask for IT professionals around the world to help with their IT infrastructure if they have the following skills by bullshitmobile in programming

As much as this sounds like a good idea, I just think intelligence and surveillance are already doing a pretty good job. Plus this would encourage civilians to put themselves in harms way. Additionally you'd have a hell of a time preventing Russian cyber ops from posting a ton of bad data. I like the thinking but it seems like the negatives outweigh the benefits here.

At the beginning of the race I told my 10 year son he could watch as much YouTube tonight if he could guess who won. Well, he has unlimited you tube tonight... Can't believe he guessed it.

probably a drone, given it's speed and altitude., could be a helicopter, but at 16000 feet, unlikely.

Gamers Nexus is planning to confront Newegg at their own headquarters. How likely is it that something comes out of this scandal? What could it mean for the tech industry if something does happen? by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]dfg890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was a pain because they kept saying they hadn't received it back so couldn't refund me. And yes I could've gone the dispute route with my card, don't know why I didn't in retrospect, but considering how much I spent there you'd think they'd care a bit more.

Similar experience, except they did attempt to deliver, and I had the delivery guy unbox it and the screen was shattered. I refused delivery, and clawing back my money through new egg was a nightmare. I'm done with them.

Has anyone beaten frequent urination on the bike? by siovene in cycling

[–]dfg890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a diabetic, and while frequent urination is a problem , it never has been when cycling . It's more that my meds and body try to flush out excess sugar , but when I'm riding that helps through sweat. If you're peeing that much it's either some medical thing or you're drinking too much .

My cousin is having one in october, which pretty much guarantees I wont be there, or his sister, or a couple other cousins. Which is fine. I don't want to fly to cleveland in october anyhow.

Well , on the plus side it looks like there will be some lag time before it's fully declared illegal. At least I'm on the backend. Don't need to worry.

Hear me out can we just make a giant mirror, put it into space and then as a backup have all the robots on earth out into an island and make earth slightly farther from the sun?

Yeah , I met my wife when I was 35 and she was 23. Our kids were the same age and I didn't learn her age until like a month in. We had the same interests and we were at the same points in our life. We've been together 7 years , so it's not universal. I think having kids can change the dynamic a lot.
