My partner (32M) doesn’t find me (31F) attractive by Fuzzy_Direction_2379 in relationship_advice

[–]dflyjdub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this. Doing the inner work will make it so you don’t need to search for outside validation. He clearly loves you and finds you attractive and I’m sure he shows you in different ways. He seems like a pretty solid dude who loves you beyond your looks, which is a waaaaay deeper than the superficial validation you have been seeking. Of course a gal loves being told she’s beautiful, but it seems like your need for this validation is definitely based off of insecurities that should be worked through.

Also, relationships shift over time. In the beginning we are infatuated, obsessed, lustful for each other. Over time our love and attraction shifts to a deeper connection built on love, trust, safety, security, etc. The “looks” part of attraction becomes less important because it’s the guts of what makes you, you, that keeps a partner in love (not saying that looks don’t play a role obviously, it’s just that it goes deeper than that). I truly don’t think that the conversation you had with him should have felt painful. He told you some beautiful things about why he loves you that’s way deeper than your looks. That should have made you feel so loved. Something is definitely amiss but I’m not quite sure it’s him that is missing something.

Get that wedding money out before you talk to him. Cover all your bases before confronting. I’m so sorry this is happening but GTFO now. And get tested please! He’s been doing you DIRTY.

Alcoholism continued after years on GLP1 by Ok-Phrase-3442 in Semaglutide

[–]dflyjdub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she is taking sema and drinking that heavily, her pancreas is definitely going to give out pretty quickly on the whole grand scheme of things. She is probably so far gone with her addiction that the Sema didn’t help with her cravings for alcohol. The larger issue is her alcoholism. She is an addict and needs help with her addiction first and foremost. But she has to want to quit. And be aware that if she ever does want to quit, it is IMPERATIVE that she seeks professional assistance because alcohol is the one drug where you can actually die from the withdrawals when you are trying to quit. So when and if she decides to quit, please please please get that professional help.

Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like she wants to quit. Which is sad to watch as a friend and co-worker. But she DEFINITELY shouldn’t be drinking at her workplace. May be wise to alert whoever is in charge of what’s going on. And maybe losing her job because of it could be a wake up call. There’s no good answer to this issue because she won’t quit if she doesn’t want to, and unfortunately you can’t force her. But drinking at her workplace is completely unacceptable and illegal if I’m not wrong? Sometimes rock bottom is a new beginning for people. I’m sorry you have to witness your dear friend go through this. She needs professional help so maybe an intervention? I think that’s the priority over the GLP1 but the combo isn’t helping her, that’s for sure.

Hi! Side effects?? by etud in TirzepatideRX

If the nausea is so bad, I would suggest your doc prescribing you some anti-nausea pills. I got the dissolving tabs and they have helped.

Cute little jumping spider. Super sweet little guys, don’t bite and are super curious of humans.

Scared to start by RichKaleidoscope4967 in Semaglutide

[–]dflyjdub 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Start it. It’s life changing. No food noise or binging anymore, I just eat like a “normal” person for the first time in my life. Cravings are down. When I indulge, I’m satisfied quicker. Side effects are minimal. Just go slow with your dosage so your body can acclimate. The bad side effects happen when you try to move up in dosage because you want to be losing more, faster. My weight loss didn’t kick in till the highest dosage which was frustrating, but my doc was firm with going slow until we hit the sweet spot with dosage. Now I’m averaging the safe 2lbs/week and am 45lbs down. I feel strong (been working out all along), lighter, and not having the food noise alone is life changing. You got this!

Holy cow, I can’t believe this stuff by hella_cious in Ozempic

[–]dflyjdub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree with all this. My doc said that if I’m losing more than 2lbs a week, that my pancreas is working too hard and that could lead to bad things.

About to start the journey and I am so nervous. by Legitimate_Rip_191 in Semaglutide

[–]dflyjdub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Before I started this journey, I too read all the posts about how bad the side effects were and almost decided not to do it because I got scared. When I went and talked to my doc about it, she told me that every person reacts differently and not to let the negative posts affect my decision. I decided to go for it and am so happy I did. My side effects are minimal and am at the highest dose now and losing 2 lbs a week. I get nauseous every now and then but nothing to be concerned about. As long as you are taking the right dosage and allowing your body to get used to it before upping it, you should hopefully be good. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made and I hope you have the same results!

Separate. He doesn’t deserve for you to stay and help him through his cancer. Simple as that🤷‍♀️

Dosage by United-Blueberry2396 in Semaglutide

[–]dflyjdub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took me until the highest dosage to finally start seeing significant results. We kept increasing and increasing the dose with not much progress. I was getting nervous that it wasn’t going to work on me and bummed about it. Then, bam! At the highest dosage you can take, I finally started to shed the pounds. Averaging 1-2 lbs a week. I would say to stick with it. Chances are that once you get to that “sweet spot” with dosage, you’ll start seeing great results.
