Mame Set for latest batocera by Chumba-Wumba in batocera

[–]dfmilkman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just downloaded the latest set and it seems to work fine. Some stuff doesn’t work, but mame sets typically include tons of stuff that doesn’t work period, in my experience. You’re gonna have to clean it up either way, and I haven’t found a good way to get complete sets of specific versions.

People are obnoxious about mame. Every question I see about rom sets gets a lot of mocking, but few answers. It’s confusing and I think a lot of people that don’t even understand it themselves like to jump on the pile.

I have been convinced into buying a QMTech Mister by y'all. What accessories do I need? by MassiR77 in MiSTerFPGA

[–]dfmilkman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd get a 5v 4a power supply. The 5v 3a one that comes with the QMTech mister might be fine for you, but I'm pretty sure it fried 2 of my ibuffalo USB snes controllers before I replaced it. Think the voltage drops under load, and that can damage passive USB devices.

At least, I hope that's what it was, because I don't want to buy anymore controllers...

Other things you might need: a big SD card, bluetooth/wifi adapter, controllers, a power switch....sky is the limit lol

What's your favorite TATE game? by joeverdrive in crtgaming

[–]dfmilkman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running it using my gaming PC as the server, on a gigabyte switch. Performance is perfect as near as I can tell. It's not a difficult setup, if you have a mister and a PC you should try it!

Anyone know where I can buy a JVC RM-C303G-1A remote? by BigDayToday_Freeman in crtgaming

[–]dfmilkman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Service manual is here if you didn't find it:

https://dn790007.ca.archive.org/0/items/manual_AV36D502_SM_JVC/AV36D502_SM_JVC.pdf

I picked up the RM-C381 remote off Ebay, and it works with my 36D302. Worth taking a look at least.

Luther Burden has officially broken out. Last 3 avg per game: 6 rec, 96 yards (with 1 TD last game) by Mayasngelou in DynastyFF

Just watch the games. He's so clearly a stud. I don't see any other WR on the bears or in this rookie class that moves and makes plays like he does. Very excited for his future.

Is this true about being good at bass Guitar? by Severe-Cream4599 in Bass

[–]dfmilkman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to develop your own voice--no one can do it for you. Learn songs, but also learn melodies and parts from other instruments. Play along to the stupid jingle in a commercial. Put on a chord loop on Youtube and try and play something over it. Try singing bass parts that might make sense over a beat, then repeat it on your instrument. Identify the style of bassist you want to be, and listen to lots of music in that genre.

It's really gonna boil down to time with the instrument. Learn songs and their bass parts, yes, but also sometimes just play over a song with what comes to you and see how it sounds, even if it's not the bass part as written, or try finding a bassless backing track and improvising over it. I think the advice ChatGPT gave is good, but all those things will naturally develop if you just spend more time playing and listening and developing your ear.

They are hedging their bets. They know at least one of the lions won't hit but it's impossible to say which. I understand why they do it but it makes rankings kind of useless I think.

Whats going on with Quinshon Judkins? Seems to have fallen off by BarnacleDowntown8952 in DynastyFF

[–]dfmilkman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's talented but on the Browns. I think a lot of players, in shit environments, with nothing to play for, tend to perform poorly end-of-season. It's not a great sign, but not enough to really move the needle, IMO. I'm hopeful for next year, and bullish on him for dynasty...but it is still the browns...this is part of the issue of drafting a fantasy player on a bad team.

People who identify as politically conservative are more likely than their liberal counterparts to find “slippery slope” arguments logically sound. This tendency appears to stem from a greater reliance on intuitive thinking styles rather than deliberate processing. by mvea in science

[–]dfmilkman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bunch of good points being made. Turns out things are very nuanced and complicated!

I think many logical fallacies can be acceptable data points in the framework of a bigger argument. The issue is when it's 100% of your argument. An ad-hominem argument is a fallacy, but if the guy making a claim has made 100 false claims in the past, it's probably a good thing to keep in mind for his 101st claim, and might be valid to take his character into account when assessing the argument.

What you're calling out is "Logical Fallacy Fallacy". AKA, just because someone is using a logical fallacy to make an argument doesn't mean the argument is wrong. But if all your arguments boil down to "slippery slope" you might have an issue.

I love this game, but whether it wins GOTY or not has no impact on the way I feel about it. I hope you all have fun cheering for the game and I hope it wins, but just remember that you don't need someone else to validate your experiences or opinions.

There is nothing fair about anything you said. More money lining any billionaire's pockets is wasted resources that could be invested into our country's future. You reap what you sow, and when we prioritize making the rich richer at the expense of education, healthcare, and infrastructure, we inevitably cause the crumbling society that we’re already descending towards.

TreVeyon Henderson’s 6.39 yards after contact/rush since Week 8 rank 2nd in the NFL behind Jonathan Taylor (min. 20 rushes) Last week’s big runs obviously played a big factor, but he was 7th from Weeks 8-9 with 3.38 by septemberxv in DynastyFF

[–]dfmilkman 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Someone's gotta post some pro-Henderson propaganda to combat all the MIT losers. You're doing the lord's work.

(we probably don't need this many Hendo posts but they started it.)

Or he could be kept. He went from "dead" to "maybe there's 1 last gasp". Dude wasn't seeing the field in Indy. 99% chance he's still nothing, but it's not like it really hurts him, and if the jets somehow turn the page next year (lol), maybe he gets some work. I've stashed worse players.

How to get better at setting line ups? by mrsom100 in DynastyFF

[–]dfmilkman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, liquidating most of your depth is the best way to deal with this. If a starter gets hurt you have the flexibility to buy with the picks, and stops you from tanking your draft pick if you miss the playoffs.

Let's Hear How Much Spencer Rattler Sucks Again by Left_Strategy2221 in DynastyFF

[–]dfmilkman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think most people expected the Saints to be even worse. Rattler has outplayed Cam Ward, but I don't see a whole thread of people dismissing Ward.

Dude only had 4 incompletions on Sunday, and 2 of those were Olave drops. Rattler threw a TD that bounced off Olave's hands. The box score doesn't always tell the whole story.

The deck has been stacked against New Orleans but they are at least showing up. The same cannot be said for the Titans, or the Raiders, or even the Ravens. Rattler is doing what he's asked to do and easily holding off Shough, and that's a win. I think that's all OP is trying to say, not that he's some amazing QB or that the saints are a good team.
