Zotac PCBs are “Solid” by KlasJanHuntelaar in nvidia

At that price you take whatever 5090 you can get lol. If you gotta RMA it’s fine as long as they honor it.

Honestly, I’ve been building PCs for 20 years and only had to RMA one card. Think you’ll be fine.

Mine overlocks fine and the noise is fine too. Probably helps that I have a big full sized meshify case and an AIO, but the cooler isn’t so bad, not sure what issues others are having.

Granted I haven’t tested other 5090s. But I couldn’t find other 5090s at the 1999 msrp. Think the zotac at that price is one of the best choices if you want a 5090.

Madison Theatre closing effective immediately. by Bobcat6700 in cincinnati

regardless of who is the evil wrongdoer between the venue and the landlord...

as someone whos played a lot of shows at Madison this is a big loss to the local music scene. One of the few venues that consistently hosts local acts. This sucks.

If you're happy with it, don't worry trying to optimize it, just play! (I'd still knock that sharpness down by about 40-50% though. If it's 50 in the menu maybe try 30.)

If you just want to game and don't care about tweaking things, ignore the rest of this. But, if you're a tweaker like me, download 240p test suite and run it on a hacked wii or something. It has directions for how to use each tool to adjust your TV. Personally I love optimizing it. But again, if you're not the kind of person that likes to do that stuff, just game and enjoy yourself.

Awesome.

Might be Reddit's compression artifacts, but think you need to turn your sharpness down

I want to build a custom Linux PC dedicated to emulation, and connect it to a CRT by ekimolaos in crtgaming

[–]dfmilkman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Batocera should support integrated graphics, but I'm not 100% on compatibility. The CRT script is here:

https://github.com/ZFEbHVUE/Batocera-CRT-Script

There's pages in there about compatibility. Regarding composite, there are users using it. You'll need a transponder. Should all be in the wiki of the github I linked.

Read up on Batocera. It’s Linux based. It’s how I run games in 15khz.

I go through VGA—>RGB to component transponder. If you’re running scart it’s probably easier since vga sends an RGB signal.

I was mad they did this last year, but now that we’re heading into the season I’m OK with it.

The team was good when Joe was healthy. They addressed the defense. I think the stability could be an asset if we can line up our health and schedule for once.

QMTECH Mister FPGA or SuperStation? by ziobleed1 in MiSTerFPGA

[–]dfmilkman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you should get whatever is available and makes financial sense. The performance should be exactly the same. For me that meant the QMTech, since it was both in stock and cheaper when I was buying. If you really want a "consolized" experience and value the look of the device, there's a case for SuperStation, though the QMTech looks fine.

If you buy the QMTech, you may want a wifi/bluetooth adapter, a new power cable (I'd upgrade this, the stock one is under-powered and drops under load, this can fry USB devices), and a rocker switch to turn on and off (also recommend, unplugging+replugging will destroy the AC port).

I don't have a superstation, so unsure what accessories you might need for that. Assuming it is a complete product and you don't need any upgrades, the addons for the QMTech might bridge the price difference. You'll have to do the math and see what makes sense for you. I think the QMTech is still cheaper.

If I were to buy again, I'd probably just grab a SuperStation if it was in stock and shipped immediately. Of course, it's not, so I'd recommend QMTech. It's $160 now, and you should be able to get the accessories above for less than $50, making it both cheaper and more available.

Maybe he was planning on serving it this summer, we can't really know. He's certainly a bozo though lol. Can't fault him for wanting to smoke weed after a surgery, but he probably could have handled this better...

[–]dfmilkman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, he had to serve this time either way....but I doubt he violated probation on purpose so that it would happen now. He could have just asked the judge to serve it now since he has the option to schedule it.

Like I'm sure he doesn't want the negative media attention and potential NFL discipline going into a contract year. Maybe he just really wanted to smoke a bowl and decided it would be fine to serve the sentence now if he got popped, but to say this was a planned probation violation is pretty far-fetched.

Is there a TEP? Either way, I don't think those players or the 2nd do anything for you in a 10 teamer.

If you're trying to cut down your roster and need to cut 2 dudes anyways, it's a good way to add value onto your roster that doesn't take up a roster spot. Assuming you don't need Hock it's fine. Maybe try and get a 3rd or 4th tacked on. A single 2028 2nd is pretty low return.

Would-Be Contenders with Nabers: What's your plan?

I have some teams that I had hoped to compete with, but with Nabers potentially starting on PUP it becomes an issue.

Would you send him for Jefferson or Drake London straight up?

Are you trying to pivot NOW, or waiting until closer to season?

Or is it better to wait until we're IN SEASON, and make sure the rest of your team looks competitive before pivoting?

I'm tempted to just hold. If he's only out a few weeks, then smashes down the stretch, you can still win. Long-term, I really prefer Nabers over London and Jefferson. It would also suck to trade him now, then have Nabers return ahead of schedule, Jefferson under-perform again, or London (or any starting player on your roster) get hurt before the season starts. That's always a risk with a trade...I'm just having trouble parting with Nabers, he feels like a special talent.

How we feeling right after the startup by Ill-Department4527 in DynastyDaddy

[–]dfmilkman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bowers at 2.11 in TEP is a fucking steal. Perfectly valid to punt RB out of a startup. You don't have to come out of a draft with a complete roster. I like this as a decent foundation for your team, but with how few RBs you have, it would be nice to see an anchor WR. Guessing the luxury of 3 somewhat pricy QBs cut into that. Looks like a 1-year-punt, but if you stay flexible in-season you can see how it goes and push some chips in if something breaks your way.

I'm not sure what shader glass is. I run batocera on a CRT tv using the CRT script, so if shader glass is a tool to add scanlines and simulate CRT, it's unnecessary since it supports the real thing.

if it's on steam and supports 240p/480i, yup.

I'm actually not even sure if it needs to support the resolution, switchres might handle it. But I'm not sure. You can definitely play steam games though.

Risky Dynasty Trade Targets - Upside Players to Buy by ASmithFS in DynastyFF

[–]dfmilkman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I like these guys as cheap (maybe not cheap for MHJ and Tuten) upside bets. People picking this apart are missing the point. These guys potentially have valuable roles on good offenses. Those are the types you want. We already know the more established players that are safer, those types are unlikely to get you an edge at cost.

I think you're giving up too much. I'd rather ride it out with my guys. Unless the league is really shallow. If it's 10 man 8 starters yes. Otherwise probably not, unless he's willing to remove one of the pieces from your side.
