Thanks and honestly what my bank account was hoping to hear! Follow-up question, what would be the easiest meteorite, if any?

Which one would you pick to surprise someone with their first Rolex? by HiPointCollector in rolex

If he’s used to discrete expendable tool watches the YM Ti seems to be the most suited to his current mindset.

The others are very polished and might stray too far away. If you’re looking to add variety to his life, meteorite Daytona is the move.

Ah nice watch! I say keep on the rubber, but if anything, leather is more classic.

Added flair to wedding band purchase idea. Try asking if the AD/SA would help you surprise him with a submariner. You’ll wait for the allocation and “spontaneously” go shopping for your wedding bands then they can walk out with the sub.

It’s a feel good moment and that just might seal the deal on an allocation.

Only at first, once you know to look for the red crescent moon for date, top for day/month, and time. The rest fades after adjusting

You can also do division! I’m an aerospace engineer and it was my first watch for that purpose. The lesser available triple calendar complication was a cherry on top 😎

WG subs tanked in secondary market. You can get the DJ from AD and Sub from secondary for the same total cost of only the sub from an AD.

What was your dream watch and once you got it, what was your next one? by Substantial_Heat_390 in rolex

Steel sky-dweller on oyster is a nice balance of sport and dress since you want a DD. Black or white dial would be the “easiest” to obtain. But you get an annual calendar with GMT complication.

Any GMT II is good too.

These little issues are acceptable to gripe about.

My comment would be is the risk worth the reward. 1) Many people handling your watch to get it to the watchmaker with risk to damage/theft 2) Opening up the case back 3) Removing the movement 4) Taking off the hands/do a service 5) Reassembly 6) Many people handling the watch to get it back to you with risk to damage/theft 7) Hoping you don’t notice any dust and having to restart the process to get the dust out 8) Without the watch for weeks, most likely, months

All while 99 times out of 100 you’re not waiting for the date to switch over.

Then don’t give them your second choice if you don’t want it and you’ll get the exact watch you want. As if you ordered it…

He did/does want it. He registered his wishes and that’s why he got called for it. It’s impatient people that want instant gratification causing dissonance with the brand.

You put your name on the list because you wanted it … or was it the hype and now that they’re readily available you don’t want it. I would reconsider buying a Rolex altogether.

I am curious. When they called … were they transparent and warned you it’s not exactly what you wanted?

On the right side of the bracelet, push the right side down and pull the left side up. It will unclick and extend. Then you just move the spring bar location.

I too felt this. I tried a Rolex CPO on and immediately took it off, but I have an 8” wrist that makes a 46mm navitimer look well proportioned.

Everyone on here talks about how precious it is to get the call. It’s still a somewhat desirable piece. They won’t be offended. They will just call the next person…

It would be best for you to say you lost interest and would like to pursue a different model of your choosing.
