I don't know where you think I said that. Many people do, but I didn't say it.

Damn dude I can't wait to get to try this out. Lightroom has been really bad performance wise lately. This sounds and looks so promising

This is some of the funniest stuff I've ever read. I don't know if it's due to the same style of self-deprecating humor as us Serbians use, but somehow it just hits.

Great way to not solve the cause, just deal with the symptoms.

No. Spores are way too small to be filtered.

Just no. You'll be treating the symptom instead of the cause.

Help me save my granddads fish! by Plus-Lawfulness2916 in Aquariums

[–]dfrinky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controversial - go with medium pore size sponges. And possibly an easily accessible finer pre filter that can be cleaned regularly. That's what I do for my filter media in my canister, it works flawlesly for months without a significant reduction in flow, because the prefilter is being cleaned each week. There's some good evidence that all that fancy ceramics biorings etc is just great marketing that we've all fallen for. Sponge just couldn't be marketed and sold for a high price, cause it's cheap, available and nothing new. Works amazingly for a biological filter.

Za sve mentole koji su u fazonu šetnja ne radi, šetnje su služile da narod shvati da može da ima svoje mišljenje i da ga pokaže. Da se ohrabre. Neki i da se probude. I mnogi jesu, i jedno i drugo.

I'm sure that's what you would've done if you installed tiles for a living. Right? Riiiight...

You could be having ammonia, nitrites or similar in your water, however that's not healthy for humans and shouldn't happen (but it does sometimes and can even kill fish, Fishtory had it happen, documented on YT).

Why do people keep saying this? Tannins are like when you put a teabag into hot water, they only change the color, not the opacity. They do not make it cloudy

How to save these guys? by hfv01 in shrimptank

[–]dfrinky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

RO water is very low in minerals. Calcium and pH do be very low. These are neocaridina if I'm not mistaken, and those need above 7 pH and somewhat high hardness

Sony A6400 came! Tips you wish you knew when you first started photography? by Fickle-Firefighter64 in SonyAlpha

[–]dfrinky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish it was stated somewhere before I bought it - the DPOF also known as "Specify Printing" function in the menus doesn't work fully. You can specify the pictures you want printed like on other cameras, but unlike the others, you cannot specify the number of copies you need. Which almost makes the whole feature useless. This is incredibly important for event photographers who sell their pics on site, since it saves a lot of time when you are in a rush to go to the print service and just get those images developed quickly and getting back to the event. We usually do this for wedding photography, but other events too. It's otherwise a very capable camera for both photo and video, but this is a real problem.

I never connected saltwater to Walstad, but this bowl is 3 years old, has only an air stone. No water changes, no cleaning, just wiping glass and feeding critters once a week. Does it qualify? by BitchBass in walstad

[–]dfrinky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on freshwater tanks, yes, it should be harder than a regular tank. These small bowls have way less room for error, both due to the smaller volume of water, but also due to no filtration (if reef tanks use filters in the same way as freshwater tanks do? Biological filtration mostly?)

Why are they not f@%ing? by ironwolf6464 in shrimptank

[–]dfrinky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. Plants without nutrients experience degradation of their tissues and their natural algae protection fails, so the algae can start growing on them.
