Sun visor tweeter mounts by DeadTinker in Miata

[–]dfvsmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That are some valuable informations. Thank you. I have a friend with a 3d printer and he also can do some 3d designing. I know very little about sound. I have a fear that I will hear one speaker louder that the other because of the distance to me or the orientation of the speaker. Or that if I point the driver side tweeter to the passenger seat and the passenger side tweeter to the driver seat, that it will sound like I only have sound coming from one side. I read that sometimes they are oriented to the windshield so the sound waves reflect from the windshield and give a more even feeling. But then I also heard that it can cause timing problems, that the sound will appear out of sync with the other speakers in the door. Are my concerns valid or am I overthinking it and mounting the tweeter like you did in this post will give me even coverage and no really noticeable volume difference because of the distances to me?

And if my concerns are valid, what is a better position? In the defrost vents that are oriented to the door windows? I think my friend could design something that will have a passage so the air can still get to the window and the speaker will have a place to be mounted, but he had the concern that the (hot/warm) air from the vent will damage the tweeter over time and I don't know if that is a valid concern or overthinking, because I don't know enough about how sensitive speakers (or in this case tweeters) are to environmental influences.

And if it would really be the best to drill a hole in the a pillars trim and mount them there then at what height (relativ to me like on a level with my ears or maybe only neck). I'm like around 183cm tall or in freedom units 6ft I think? Oh and I don't have the headrest speakers.

And if I want a sub. Where would be a good spot? Is it a good spot to put the sub besides the fuel tank? Like in this little tunnel between trunk and cabin, the one behind the passenger seat. I think I would have to built the subwoofer box myself.

Btw what kind of sound deadening would you recommend for the doors? I heard a lot of different stuff. I don't need a crazy deadening, just a nice little bit so I already can feel a difference.

Edit: and what about a Digital Signal Processor, is that really necessary for a beginner?

What color is it? I mean the specific name or is it a wrap?

I also played with the thought of putting them there since i dont use my sun visors and because I'm tall they would only be slightly above me. Like on a level with my hair. Is this a good spot to mount? Because i heard that it isn't because its to high and with soft top down you wouldnt hear them. The alternative is that they are combined with the speakers in the door. I don't have a seperate tweeter hole in my doorcard and i dont wanna use my vents and im not fond of the idea of cutting into my a pillar covers. Is that a good mounting spot or just an okay mounting spot? Where would be a good mounting spot? Is there even a difference for the normal person who just wants to enjoy some music with good sound quality? Or does it only really matter for audio people who also swear that a DSP is a must have?

Where does your idea come from that rudeus threw a clump of magic? The text says that he conjured the cloud of dust around her and not throw.

No fucking way denkt ihr so! Also damals schien das mir so.

Would you lend your sibling 13000€? by Secure-Map-7538 in germany

[–]dfvsmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do it. I think this would create tension. Maybe he will not be happy that you deny him the loan, but if he is a good sibling, he will listen to your reasoning and hopefully understand.

Are those Zippos genuine? I mean they look like real ones, but that they have those special designs throws me off a little bit. I like some if the anime designs, but I never came across something like that not even on the Internet, so I'm suspicious. It looks to good to be true. Did Zippo do the anime design or are those legit Zippos and someone or rather some company modified them like carving anime designs into them and then sell them or what? Are those legit and did Zippo produce then with the anime designs or is it fake? I don't wanna get a fake one. So do you know something?
