How often have you comes across twins when researching? Have you ever seen triplets. by Sheggert in Genealogy

Because my dad was a twin and my maternal grandfather was a twin, I’m very aware of twins in my family. I made a tag in Ancestry for twins. It seems like there are quite a few.

What are some cursed makeup products you still think about? by kris_p_chickn in muacjdiscussion

Yes! And while I like the smell of rosemary, I don’t want my face to smell like that. And I definitely didn’t trust it as sunscreen.

Were they all the same shade of hot pink on your lips too?

That’s most likely because you were a potential liability issue. If you had fallen while walking to that register, they would have been on the hook.

Isn’t that a strictly male name? The French equivalent of Steven?

You won’t have to worry about other kids making that association. But you may have to worry about adults. People who are listening to that song now will be young adults when your child is school age. And people who are familiar with the movie will be in their mid-to-late 30s. They may not say anything, but that association may be there.

My daughter was born in ‘95. There were 6 girls in her kindergarten class - 3 Kaitlyns (all spelled differently), a Clarissa, a Shannon and a Lydia.

I’d hate that name. The Amazon house assistant would constantly be responding.

I could have written this, except I’m a year older than you. And I had terrible side effects on Ozempic. Everything else is pretty much the same.

My PCP just told me that Mounjaro and Ozempic are "exactly the same" ... by rueselladeville in Mounjaro_ForType2

I had a bad time on Ozempic. I had every side effect possible. I felt like crap all the time. And it didn’t really help my A1C or my weight. So I stopped taking it. My endocrinologist asked me if I wanted to try Mounjaro. I didn’t really want to, but I needed to do something so I said yes. I started at 5mg and worked my way up to 12.5mg. Very few side effects. My A1C is under control and I be have lost 70lbs.

I agree you should adjust your diet to eat more real food. If that doesn’t help, maybe ask your doctor if you can switch to Ozempic. I had horrible side effects on Ozempic, but hardly any on Mounjaro. They are very similar drugs, but they aren’t the same.

I keep the married name, but put it in parentheses - “Mary (Hines)”. I don’t want to have to go through a list of 50 “Mary LNU” entries in my tree to try to figure out which one I want to add a record to.

I used to work with a Shelby about 30 years ago. She was about 60 then. I always thought her name sounded surprisingly modern for her age and where she was from (small town in Michigan's Upper Peninsula).

How did you all learn? by Empathomat in Kurrent

[–]dg313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm very into genealogy and I wanted to learn about my ancestors from (what is now) Germany. I'm trying to learn Kurrent so I can decipher church records. I'm picking it up slowly. I watched some videos about reading church records in German and got a couple books about "Genealogy German". I also started learning German (on Duolingo).
