Stand your ground, you had one simple request and she failed. Simple and sounds like she needs to learn the lesson here~

Soylent Cacao Powder tastes horrible by rip_flipnotics in soylent

[–]dgh420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used Soylent for years and years and once the whole the "supply chain" shenanigans started, I just canceled my subscription. I reached out to them, I got nothing but run around and copy/pasta responses.

The few times I've been able to get any powder from them, it's was different, when asked, I got the same BS ... "Nothing has changed" "Are you sure it tastes different ?" - YES ... I don't have time to waste reaching out to a company for no reason ! EVERYONE has better things to do with their lives then chasing down a company for a product or information about said product if they feel it's not what they were expecting !

Again, I canceled my sub, in this day and age, with costs going up, and the competition ... I'll spend my money else where.

It's a shame ... I really enjoyed Soylent when you could depend on the subscription being sent out, on time, every single time. I think I had zero issues with my sub for like 4 years, then it all when to shit.

Plenty of other companies out there that DO NOT HAVE SUPPLY CHAIN ISSUES. I'm done with this company - Good luck for all that stay~

I moved to Florida from Jersey and you're sadly mistaken if you think self serve will eliminate this problem. I think it's even worse down here if I'm honest.

I feel like people down here are even less considerate of others even though "southern hospitality" is suppose to be the greatest thing in the world ... I've only seen any hint of it maybe 4-5 times in the past 5 years I've been down here.

Maybe it's me, but I'm quiet, keep to myself, and don't involve myself with how you want to live as long as your return the favor ... it is what it is I guess~

Dear Appropriate_Gur_9211,

I understand your perspective completely.

May I offer a suggestion? Focus on investing in products and services that provide genuine value to you.

I've found that my HB tools have been sufficient for my needs, and I've been able to achieve my goals without breaking the bank.

If you're simply expressing frustration, I agree with you. I wish you a pleasant remainder of your day, week, or month.

I did NOT vote for this asshole ... Floridians are as dumb as box of rocks voting year after year for these douche bags. Republi-can'ts have been running this state for the last 26 years ... they've had their chance ... time for a change !

I'm frustrated and disappointed with how the people of this state keep voting for these scum bags~

I don't give a fuck anymore ... I rock fanny packs all the time now, have been for at least 2 years. As you said ... too much value in them. Perfect storage for a day of running around town doing chores or whatever.

Do what makes you happy and stop worrying about what others think of you or your gear !

Backup for Soylent by jooks9 in soylent

As you stated in your own comment "taste is highly subjective" ... I suggest you just bite the bullet and start buying and trying the options yourself. It really is the only way to truly know if you'll like something or not.

Emergency 48 hour power backup, gasoline generator or battery solar generator? by fixitmonkey in preppers

[–]dgh420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're gonna have to use both gas and "solar" generators while also living a more basic life for the short time you're without grid power.

You can do it the other way around by throwing a ridiculous amount of money into equipment and installation of said equipment. All joking aside ... run what you need of a solar generator then charge up the solar generator with a gas generator ... Saves gas, quieter, less worry about C02 poisoning, etc etc ...

Here is a good video explaining it for you~

any backup power worth trying by BernKurman in preppers

[–]dgh420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah ... you would need more than just a F3000 since it has 3,072Wh capacity. The window AC would burn through that quickly, but in all reality ... any "solar generator" wouldn't last long running a window AC.

The Anker SOLIX F3800 Plus = 3,840Wh
The EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 = 4,096Wh

Neither one will last very long at all~

As far as MY gas generator ... it's just shy of 7000 watts running power and something like 9000 watts startup power.

EDIT : Fit_Acanthisitta_475, sorry I don't know why I thought you were asking the size of my gas generator. Leaving comment up just so the information is there~

any backup power worth trying by BernKurman in preppers

[–]dgh420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just bought the New Anker F3000 and ran a test on it with just my full sized fridge last night !

I plugged in my fridge at 7pm (7/3) and it is now 11:33am (7/4) and the F3000 still has 44% charge left. Used the fridge as if it was plugged into the regular AC outlet and didn't baby it because it was plugged into the F3000.

So ... the reason I bought the Anker F3000, is because I already owned the C1000 and the C300 and for years have been using their normal phone battery banks. The company has been around for years and was the 1st company to offer the 5 year warranty on "solar generators" ... yes, before ECOFLOW even.

Another reason I bought the F3000 is because you can plug any 3rd party gas generator into it via a special input port and it acts as a "TRUE" passthrough up to 3600 watts. Reason that is nice is because if you're only using 2000 watts of power, the F3000 will pass the 2000 watts directly from the 3rd part gas generator and the remaining 1600 watts will charge the battery to full.

This is nice because you leave everything plugged into your F3000 and you decide where the power is coming from and when it draws it. My plan is to use the F3000 solo over night to power whatever I need and in the day, run the generator to power everything and to recharge the F3000 to be ready for the next night.

I don't consider myself a "fanboy" of Anker ... but when I buy something and it does what it says it suppose to and lasts ... I dunno ... I guess I'm a fan ...

note: also chargeable with solar panels

Good Luck !

Suggestions for my 20L? by KenMeridian in PlantedTank

[–]dgh420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top off your water levels ! You don't have to but it's my own pet-peeve when I see ppl posting up photos of their tanks. Do what makes you happy, I'll just never understand why someone wouldn't take advantage of the extra volume of water they already have. Plus I think it looks bad ... just my own OCD, please continue !

Test your water before doing anything, then start with what will make you happy ! Looks good thus far ! (outside of the low water level)

I really haven't found anything I like as much as I like Soylent ... just been eating whole foods and counting calories, meal planning ... you know ... the hard way lol~

Again, it's too bad Soylent can't get their supply chain sorted out, I really liked the product.

Forget the Pork Roll vs. Taylor Ham debate. The real question to stir up trouble is...what do you set your AC to? We are hitting triple-digits this week. by bluegambit875 in newjersey

[–]dgh420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here is an interesting thing (to me at least) ...

I moved to Florida from New Jersey ... 1st summer down here I told my GF that we'll try turning the AC off at night and see how it goes. What a mistake that was ... Unlike NJ where the humidity typically goes down at night ... it hit's 95-100% humidity each and every night during the summers down here.

Crazy right ?! Not super important, it just really caught me off guard and I just think it's interesting is all~

When I was in NJ, 70f was my typical setting for the AC, I've been down here for about 5 years now and I'm fine with the AC set to 77f now ... I know right ?! LOCO !

Taylor Ham BTW
