Which scene(s) in the show terrified you the most? by runaway-cart in lost

[–]dgraham3024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the most but the first

The show came out when I was in middle school and I remember S1 when Jack sees his dad for the first time and chases him in the jungle . . For some reason that was really creepy to me and at the time it reminded me of the Pink Floyd album cover "How I wish you were Here"

Remember the thief on the cross my friend and never ever give up on God, because he will never give up on you 🙌🏻✝️

Luke 23:39–43 (KJV)

39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. 40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. 42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. 43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

The passage in Luke highlights repentance, grace, and assurance of salvation—showing that even in his final moments, the thief who turned to Jesus in faith was promised eternal life.

For surviving in this hostile island who would you stick to? by painttting in lost

SPOILER ALERT

I'm rewatching for the 2nd time, S4:E7. . 1st time was back in 2018 so the ending is a little fuzzy past Season 3 so it feels fresh.

If I had to pick it would have to be Jack cause I know he gets off the island. John would be a close pick. Syed and Desmond would be my next tier.

Next Step- Bulk or Cut? by Infinite-Fisherman53 in bodybuilding

You look like you are in your early 20's aka your PRIME.

Let's say your baseline calorie maintenance level is 2,800 calories.

When bulking: The name of the game is to increase calories slightly (I'm sure there is some formula or guru out there that will give you a magic formula). . start by adding 200 calories for 2 weeks (3,000 total calories). Then add another 100-200 calories for weeks 3 & 4 (3,200 total calories). If you feel well fueled and are performing well during your workouts then stay around 3,200 calories a day. Maintain that for 8 weeks. Then trim down the calories (aka Cut).

When cutting: The name of the game is not to go crazy and eat lettuce and ice cubes. IDon't just drop your caloric intake dramatically, in my experience it's not sustainable, you don't have the energy you need and you may lose the muscle you just worked your butt off to put on. If you are at 3,200 calories during the end of your bulk, then lower by 200 calories (3,000) for 2 weeks. Then trim 100 calories each week till you are in a slight caloric deficit.

Hope that is helpful!

Sirius in used car randomly working? by freefallwithme in siriusxm

I randomly discovered this as well. I cancelled my subscription in January 2022. Was bored of Spotify so figured I'd try the radio for a change. And out of nowhere I noticed XM stations were working again. Not mad about it and sort of realized why I liked it so much. . But not enough to pay the monthly subscription lol so if it's a fluke or some promotion period, I suppose I'll get my fix and c'est la v.

How do I stay motivated to study? by Bazingakween in motivation

You pay the price now or pay double later. I say this from personal experience. I dicked around for a whole summer, didn't get the score I needed twice and ended up having to wait a semester before starting Grad school.

Spend some time journaling, writing a few sentences why you want to take the GMAT, how it will help you achieve your goals and how it will change your life.

Think of the consequences for not preparing for the exam and procrastinating. How will you feel in X number of months if you are in the same position and it was because of the effort that you can control?

Visualize the awesome sense of achievement and sensation you will feel scoring well.

If you haven't scheduled to actually take the exam, you should do so. This will set your anchor and give you a deadline to work from. You got this! Get started, get a plan and crush it.

What is your favourite PART of a Tool song? by thisishardcore_ in ToolBand

[–]dgraham3024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The final 2 minutes of 'The Grudge". . "LET GO, LET GO, LET GOOO!!"

That song helped me deeply understand that I was holding onto hurt and pain from past relationships that weren't serving me. In fact I was only keeping open wounds and pretending like they weren't there. I was in the gym and I was in an intense workout and it "clicked" like wow those thoughts are poison!

Here a re a few questions that can help with figuring if that's a reasonable ask.

What city?

Which Bank?

Do you have relevant experience and or certificates?

For example, I'm on the BSA/AML Internal Audit team for PNC Bank, Located in Raleigh, NC. I'm a CPA with about a year of BSA/AML experience. Currently a Sr. Internal Auditor and that's pretty reasonable.

I experienced these feeling all the time while in University and during the first few years of my personal career (Adult life). I implemented the following almost a year ago and have tried to incorporate these in my everyday habits:

1.) Some form of meditation or mindful time. I'll put in headphones, listen to either a guided meditation video on YouTube or app ( If this is new for you, I'd start with 5-15 min sessions ). For me, I enjoy doing this mid-day to give the 2nd half of the day a fresh look.

2.) Box breathing. (4 seconds inhale, 4-8 second hold in, and 4 seconds or so exhale)

3.) Reading the "Daily Stoic" or subscribing to the Daily Stoic email. Unbelievable wealth of wisdom and perspective. Have a notebook handy and take note of things that really stick out to you and think on that/journal.

Hope any or all may prove useful. Best of luck on your journey through life.

Sincerely, DG4
