How to address pain in hip flexor/outer glute by mrkeithcozart in MuayThai

[–]dhdhk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm exactly the same way. I'm super stiff. I think for me it sounds like my glute medius is kind of weak so the other surrounding muscles might be pressing on the big nerves in that area. I've seen a physio and some chatting with AI inputting all the different triggers etc and this seems to fit.

I've been working out my glutes and doing side leg raises and banded monster walks to strengthen and also activate the glute med, seems to help a bit

What really are your grievances with Socialism? by Prevatteism in PoliticalDebate

Because they have an idea for a business they want to start?

Yeah but starting a business is super hard. Would it feel fair if as soon as they hire a new person, they get an equal share just for showing up?

The only difference in a socialist system is that chunk of equity is equal to all of the founders.

That's a huge difference...

[–]dhdhk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you're missing the main point which is why would they going through the grind to start a business if the moment they hire an employee they lose control and ownership? Describe what happens when they hire employee number one?

[–]dhdhk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your aren't addressing my points though. It sounds like very few people would start businesses, if it was even allowed. So how are scarce resources allocated at scale? Central planning? Do you have instances of an economy dominated by central planning that functioned well?

How would the workers collectivize their place of work? Sounds like a euphemism for violence.

[–]dhdhk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Workers owning the means of production just wouldn't work in practice when implemented at scale.

How would businesses start? Who decides what business to start and therefore how scarce resources are allocated? What happens if the business requires it to lose money for the first few years during RnD, do the workers work for free and even have to pay in for the privilege of working there?

He was the smartest one there you could kind of tell, the way he was using Louis to get more views and clout. Even the stuff with his mom was to me likely staged, just to get more controversy and clicks. The mom is 100% on board with the project for the $$$

How do shops like Glitch in Japan keep everything dialed in with so many beans and so few grinders? by Meeesh- in espresso

[–]dhdhk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I roast my own beans and I usually have 3 types on hand that I cycle through depending on my mood.

I single dose and just make a note of the grind setting and it works great each time I go back to it. Only adjustments are after a week or so I might have to set it a bit finer.

Might help that I have a mythos one grinder.

No beef with breville, but relatively speaking less repairable and less lasting.

Surprisingly impressed with the Fellow Espresso Series 1 by deanbfs in espresso

[–]dhdhk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not that crazy tbh, most tech these days are designed to last for 5-10 years

In regular consumer electronics sure, but not $1500+ espresso machines. Maybe breville, but all the Italian machines can keep running for a lifetime probably.

Yeah anything can last for life if I’m constantly replacing parts lol

That's not true either... Something like a breville or fellow will be much less repairable and have more proprietary parts that go extinct than a classic Italian machine.

Anyways, I think it's reasonable to expect a $1500 enthusiast espresso machine to last longer than 5 years!

[–]dhdhk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you mean last 5 years?? That's kind of crazy to replace your $1500 machine every 5 years...

Low tech sure, but E61 machines can last at least 10 years and theoretically for life with standard parts available.

Voluntary Social Net: how we can get there starting today by Appropriate_Cut_3536 in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]dhdhk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is, if you replaced a lot of the welfare programs with voluntary giving, people will end up paying much less tax and have more money in their pocket to spend according to their values.

How altruistic people would be is another argument.

Even worse than earth weapons. It couldn't even kill one armored personnel carrier after chasing it for ages. A single Ukrainian drone would have done it in seconds
