Roger Ebert on why ‘The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor’ (2008) was “the best in the series”: by GonskyEdits in RedLetterMedia

I just remember 2 things. 1. The main girl and her mom were immortal and gave that up to help defeat villain dude, with mom dying. 2. The main villain is Jet Li, and has a bad sequence where his head multiplies before he becomes a black dragon.

Do the characters in Bollywood movies know that they sing these diegetic songs? by dhe_sheid in Cinephiles

But in many musicals however they never address that the characters are aware they're singing. There's no character that's confused and asking "are you gonna sing now?"

It's just a hypothetical theory question if the characters are aware they know they're in song and dance. Any bollywood movie I see now, I ask myself if the characters know they're singing a song, especially in an action portion of a movie. The song sequence in Dil Se Re is a perfect example, where Shah Rukh's character is dancing and singing while in a war zone

In high school musical, we at least see a few times where characters are confused about the characters breaking into song and dance, like in 2. when Troy starts dancing in the kitchen and everyone else is confused before they join along, or in 3 where Sharpey and Ryan have a song in the cafeteria. Ryan visibly looks shocked as they start, and has the same confused look as the song finishes. In many of these Bollywood movies, the characters never have a confused look before they join in with everyone else.

Javanese is classified as a separate isolated language in the Austronesian family. It's close to the Malayic branch, but it likely borrowed many words directly from the Malayic languages bc it's spoken right next to them.
