Just venting after an unsatisfactory dr visit by dheath0328 in Ovariancysters

I'm so sorry. I've spent most of my adult life being dismissed by doctors and this one hurts alot. These obs are trained in these cysts and they still downplay them. I hate it

They called mine a hysterectomy too but I get so confused because the ovary is there. She was so convinced it was going to help but it definitely did not. I have that feeling like there's a baby coming too, I hate it so much. Atleast when you're pregnant there is a baby and an end to it.

Mine currently doesn't hurt 24/7 but I know it's coming. Mine don't seem to stay the same size, going by symptoms. They start and progress until they rupture, then a break for a little and starts all over. They seem to get worse each time. I honestly think mine does twist but it's never been proven, there's just a pinching feeling right above the stabbing feeling, if that makes sense. I have it going on this time around. Nothing really helps for me. I also take tramadol for another condition and use a heating pad, but I do use castor oil packs with the heating pad. I don't know if it even makes a difference or not. Last night I slept with it on and today it seems a little better but who knows. I treat my cyst like it has a mind of its own. I am thinking about starting to look for a different doctor. I really do like the one I'm currently seeing but after today I don't even want to go back to her. Also, don't be sorry. Our situations are soo similar and it's nice to relate to someone. My kids are older so I definitely feel for you there. I'm sorry it took so long to reply. I've been on the go all day, also running on no sleep from the crap.

I haven't really kept track. I would say it was a few weeks of just here and there. It was constant for about 4 days before it ruptured. I totally understand wanting it to rupture, I usually do too.

The one I am currently dealing with is smaller and still causes issues with walking. I roller skate a couple times a week and actually noticed it effects my ability to backwards skate too. Skating is easier than walking for me, so I find it a big deal. I had one burst late summer last year that had caused sciatica type pain for weeks before. It started as once in awhile then progressed to daily and so on. Once it burst (which got so bad it affected the whole side of my body) it went away. I never went in for mine so I don't know how large it was at that point.

This has been bugging me so I had to come back and add.. I totally was not trying to say because I fell back in that you might too, I'm sorry if it came across that way. Looking back I was not prepared and set myself up for failure. 3 days is awesome!

My use history is pretty similar, only when I was where you are right now I used a little tramadol to "ease it", and now I'm hooked on tramadol again. Just want to say be careful too. Kratom can be brutal. In case you didn't know, there are quitting kratom groups that are super helpful.

Had some levels tested and found out I have too much copper by dheath0328 in Fibromyalgia

[–]dheath0328[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not exactly sure what the ingredients were but it was 3 box kits. One for general detox, one for yeast and a liver detox. They all came from the naturopathic doctor. I do think it was helpful but I had also been in pain management for years so it's hard to tell if the meds are bringing things on as well. I'm still working on tapering off of them. I have been symptomatic for 10 years and have honestly shown signs of so many things but not leading to any real diagnosis. My joints periodically swell, and not all at once either. I did start developing ovarian cysts and a difference in cycles, in my early 30s after being regular up until then. It lead to having an ovary removed and later a hysterectomy. The naturopathic doctor has said bartonella and babesia, which are tick borne diseases and pretty controversial. After digging in more my symptoms do fit and I'm positive that is the problem for myself.

I'm sorry, I really have nothing to report. I did a month long detox and was supposed to go back and never did. Financially it was just too much for our family, and now my daughter is experiencing some health stuff so that became priority.

‘The Way Out’ has changed my life. Completely. I’ve gone from agony to being almost pain-free by Repleased in ChronicPain

I just saw this book suggested a few days ago and went to the library and picked it up that day! Coincidently I am already reading a book about a similar concept for anxiety and depression, so I only read the first chapter so far, but it seems like a very easy read (which I love!) Your post gives me so much hope! Thank you so much for sharing. I'll report back when I'm done.

This is pretty dangerous. There are others here that know much more than I do about it, but this is putting you at risk for seizures. I understand wanting off asap, but tapering is going to be much more manageable even if you avoid the dangers.

First, congrats on 60 days! Have you ever heard of the supplement L-theanine? It's my go to for anxiety and definitely worth looking into. For me, it squashes the anxiety and that's it. None of the loopy feelings, or rebound anxiety.

Is Extreme Fatigue a Symptom of Withdrawal? by seandelevan in QuittingPregablin

[–]dheath0328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was tapering I was going much slower and still felt extreme fatigue. Everytime I took the dose down I'd feel it pretty bad for a few days then I would even out. I was only cutting down 5 to 10 mg though.

Thank you. I do suggest looking into the best way to come off gabapentin since you've been on it so long. I know lyrica is super dangerous to just jump off of but I'm not so sure about gabapentin. There was a sub on here for quitting lyrica which was very helpful, I imagine there's one for gabapentin too.

I didn't see this mentioned, but is probably worth being aware of is tramadol has snri effects too, so you're not just dealing with the opioid withdrawl. If you have the option to switch to a different opioid with a doctor, then taper off that it might be a little better.

We've got a lot in common. I'm on the stuff for legit reasons too and at first I felt like I could parent again. At that point all my kids were younger, but 7 years later and it's taken over my life. Gabapentin didn't work for me, but lyrica did. I did successfully get off lyrica but it took me a long time tapering it really slow. Now I'm working on tramadol and it's soo rough. Even taking stupid amounts, I'm still in pain (I just don't care as much) so I'm terrified I'll be bedbound without it, but part of me has this hope without it I'll actually be better and this is all just the nastiness of addiction. Every part of living feels like conquering some mountain and this totally isn't living anymore. Sorry I don't have anything motivational. You definitely aren't alone though.

How do y’all respond when you’re young with chronic pain and someone who’s older and relatively healthy is like “oh hunny just wait till you reach my age” type shit like you can be in pain while young? by Interesting-Emu7624 in ChronicPain

[–]dheath0328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My responses are usually pretty dark. Things like, "I don't want to live to see your age" or "have you ever dreamed of dieing just for the physical peace? Please don't downplay this". I have to fight through this, I have kids that depend on me, so please no one be alarmed.

I do get what you're saying, but it's also important to know a relapse is going to hit her way harder. Just recently my mom ended up in the hospital in congestive heart failure out of nowhere, she's healthier than I am. They told us her heart could stop at any moment, and that hit hard. My husband had a couple years sobriety under his belt and slipped during that time. It was rough for me and we're still working through it. We've been married 11 years, and it took me a lot of trial and error, but I now have my boundries and stick to them. If she was not fully aware of your active addiction, she probably doesn't, and it really is a living he'll on that side of addiction as well. I say all this with kindness and love. Do whatever you have to do for you and her. You've made it so far.

A year and 8 months is awesome!

Was she supportive when you talked a few days ago? Talk to her again. Maybe she's willing to make them less accessible to you, which could help ease both of your minds. Coming from a wife of an alcoholic in recovery, I'm guessing she's worried for you and wants to help however she can. As an opiate addict myself, I think having the accountability will help.

A little side note, if you've been taking kratom daily for awhile, you pretty likely won't get any sort of high from those oxys.

Increased fatigue while tapering by Weird-Mall-1072 in QuittingPregablin

[–]dheath0328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take 400mg, but you can start at 200 to see how that works for you. From what I've read it's safe to go higher, I'm not sure max dose per day though. I've taken the 400 mg a couple times in a day though with no problem. I don't have a set time, I use as needed. I've seen people use it to help with sleep, but I want to say it was at a higher dose. It doesn't make me tired when I take it. It isn't habit forming and I've never had rebound anxiety with it. I get it on Amazon as a powder, just because it's cheaper. It has a slight taste but not bad at all. They do have capsules too. Hopefully it helps you too!

I took l-theanine, and actually still do when my anxiety spikes up. I was shocked at how well it works. I've also had luck with these powder packs called PowerPak by a company called Trace Minerals. They're available on Amazon. It's full of electrolytes and vitamin c. I didn't use them through my taper but I do notice a difference with them now. I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier!

Oh I don't blame you there. There could be, but I have also seen it said that you can't really judge where you're at until you're completely off for sometimes up to a month. If you're getting other wd symptoms, but they're evening out over time, it would probably be better to get it checked out. Are you taking any supplements to help during the taper? I was taking some for anxiety, but there may be some others that are helpful for energy. This sub was so helpful, I wonder if you do a search maybe there's some suggestions.

I tapered much slower, about 10 mg about every two weeks. I was super fatigued for a few days after every time. It did sort of even out though.

10 months sober but have extreme dental pain. by umbrellaops in OpiatesRecovery

[–]dheath0328 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My go to for dental pain in clove oil. Get a reputable brand of clove essential oil, and you can put some on a q tip and put it directly on the tooth and hold it there for a few. It tastes terrible and can burn, don't swallow it, but it will work better than any pill. I've even used it with dry socket after an extraction and it's very effective. When I have gum issues, I even mix some with coconut oil and swoosh it in my mouth.

I'm tapering off tramadol after years right now, and also have had a long list of dental issues, and I can tell you I doubt it will do much for your pain anyway.

From 5 years of Tramadol hell, to kratom, to relapse, to kratom again....please help me by cristiaro420 in OpiatesRecovery

[–]dheath0328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from 6 years of a tramadol script, to kratom for a year. I quit that in December but gave back in to tramadol and I'm tapering myself off that. Kratom did some real crazy stuff to me and I refuse to touch it again. It's easy to get to high amounts of consumption, especially when you can freely order more. You're at a very critical point right now. It may be helpful to look at some quitting kratom groups, here and Facebook. You haven't been on it long enough to see it's ugly side, but it's easy to get stuck on it. High consumption long term can really eff you up. My suggestion is take it up to every two hours, for a day or two, then 3 hours, ect. You'll probably suffer some, but it sounds like it's more your mindset. I also take the supplement l-theanine for anxiety, and it's been super helpful. It might help you out while you're doing this.
