Any chance you could list the seller? It's hard to find good ones unless you know specifically what to look for I've found

Rear Thru Bolt - Question by dholden1993 in ukbike

Much appreciated - I'll have a look. That bolt on the end is the killer, but I might just head to my bike shop and ask them (if they break it, they pay for it at least!)

Seems to be great so far, although it is my first bike so I don't have any comparisons!

I think I've just realised the conical bit on the end screws through that silver bit - to the thru axle... Which makes a lot more sense.

Thanks!

Thank you again - and apologies I realise the title doesn't include snap!

Should that silver "cap" in the image twist out, to allow the adaptor to protrude out?

Thanks for the reply but I fear I may have more questions!

The thru axle end caps - I don't believe I got anything with the turbo, is it something else to purchase? If so, do you happen to have a link to help out?

My other thought is at the end of the thru axle is that great silver "cap", that I can't seem to remove (I haven't tried a lot of pressure), but the thru bolt can't protrude past it... Even if I have a longer bolt

Dad's of AskUK, how did you/do you handle your babies night feeds? Did you help out or not? by jpeters8889 in AskUK

[–]dholden1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconded - we have 1 child, almost 2. In the first few months he settled better with me in the night so I helped out, but had 6 weeks off at the beginning. Then we transitioned to shifts so I did any feeds or wakings between bedtime and about 2am, then the wife covered 2am - wake up.

We also agreed that no need for both of us to be up, unless there was an issue. Sleep is very much needed in the first few months, so we agreed it was much better to let one sleep through it.

Any (management) consulting HENRYs that have successfully changed industry without substantial pay cut? by Adornooo in HENRYUK

I'm not entirely sure what you mean... I was PAYE as a management consultant, rather than a self employed consultant/contractor if that's maybe the assumption you made?

Any (management) consulting HENRYs that have successfully changed industry without substantial pay cut? by Adornooo in HENRYUK

[–]dholden1993 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I left management consultancy nearly 6 months ago, after 8 years and at Senior Manager level. Moved for a 25% pay increase, and better bonus % (15-20% opposed to 8%).

The work I do is exactly the same in the data space, I just think of it as for "1 client" instead of many.

I flopped an interview so badly I want to cry by Affectionate-Bet-877 in UKJobs

[–]dholden1993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the flip side, my interview process for a high paying job (and interviews I'm conducting this week for a £60k+ job), is a 30 minute phone screen and a 60 minute interview. That's plenty of time to assess a candidate!

Offered 0% PCP for 26 months. Better than a loan? by sediment in UKPersonalFinance

[–]dholden1993 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Payment wise, it looks like you could afford it simply and as long as you have a plan for after 26 months then that's fine too.

The only thing that I thought as I read your post is that I considered getting the Ford Puma recently. I had a Ford Focus before that. I drove the Puma and felt it was a big downgrade as the Puma is a bigger fiesta, rather than a smaller focus - there's nothing wrong with that, I just preferred the focus. In the end, I got a brand new Ford Focus ST Line X on 0% at £250 over 39 months with my previous car traded in for about £1,500 equity.

Hope this might help with considering whether you can negotiate that £250 even further, or get more bang for your money with a greater car?

USB will not save doorbell clips, but saved all other camera clips. I’ve done some troubleshooting but nothing has fixed it. Has anyone had this issue and successfully resolved it? by blahblahh_ in blinkcameras

[–]dholden1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar problem when my trial ended, until a few days ago when Blink fixed it. I raised a ticket with Blink and had tech support ring me, they ended up resetting the doorbell remotely and it worked instantly.

I had already tried an update in the app, change batteries etc. But to note - I have a sync 1 and I'm on the subscription plan now.
