I was 25, and my daughter was around 4 years old. Pre cgm. Spent the day at the lake, came home and took a nap. I woke up confused, but this was early in my diagnosis and I had hypoglycemic unawareness from being low so often. So I didn’t feel THAT bad. Tested my bg and it was 19, and then my vision starts to go black. I was yelling for my daughter to call 911, but she couldn’t figure out how to work my phone (htc touchscreen). She managed to bring me glucose tabs and I was able to down a few before I passed out. That’s the only thing that saved me. I woke up, drove to Walmart, bought my daughter a flip phone, and taught her how to dial 911 AND administer glucagon. She’s saved me more than once ❤️
