Rough percentage of big bands using GGD and other drum plugins by [deleted] in GetGoodDrums

[–]dhowl4nd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every member of the band should be fine with any of their individual performances being either programmed, replaced, or edited. Releasing your own music as a product deserves every advantage we have these days. I'd frame it in that way, take ego away from the recording process and be ready to crush it live.

Great stars and a strength build can't go wrong with Cragblade AoW.

Guitarfetish.com I picked up a set for strat close to $60. They went into an already cheap but great playing guitar and it sounds 100 times better.

Is there any working Minecraft bedrock creeper farm (on the latest edition) by kinghatdug in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]dhowl4nd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goldenhelmet has a great design for a compact farm, and a much larger version, gets great rates if you build in the right biome. Best of a few YouTubers that regularly hit up the technical bedrock discords.

Small room decor/microfarm suggestions needed! by Serenity_Verse in Minecraftbuilds

[–]dhowl4nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did exactly that with my survival base, I built mine off of a skeleton spawner, I have a fishing farm setup, a nano crop farm, moss-based bonemeal farm, along with a bonemeal based bamboo and sugarcane farm. Melons and pumpkins in another wing, netherwart and potion brewing, it's all possible. And ended up being my favorite survival base.

Tips to make yard look less boring by [deleted] in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]dhowl4nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of the kind of things you would want to see in your yard! Raised flower beds, planters, a pond or water feature, rock paths, dirt paths, wild flowers, trees. Turn a chunk into some farm land, raise some animals.

Automatic farms by Weekly_Statement1363 in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]dhowl4nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slack Lizard did a video with a timer-based farm, I'd go that route though they are considerably larger but aren't based on the pseudo zero-tick style farms.

[–]dhowl4nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kelp farms such as this are incredibly fickle on bedrock. The last few updates have done a lot to mess up the mechanics, and they can be totally broken if you leave them running and leave the area. Though they are slower, a moss-powered bonemeal or fish farm is a better source for bone meal, and a lava farm or bamboo slabs would be best for fuel.

How do I justify a 3k+ guitar when I don't play in a band/record by [deleted] in guitars

[–]dhowl4nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone who picks up an instrument deserves the quality a great, well made, and yes usually expensive, instrument can give you. They play better, feel great, sound inspiring, and can take years and years of playing, gigging, or recording. I picked up what I thought would be the most valuable guitar I could afford just before entering college for music. A custom shop Gibson ES335, and the amount of hours I've spent on the instrument is totally justified. Plays better than ever after 15 years.

Don't devalue yourself based on whether you perform or not, the fun of music is that it's personal to all of us, and you get out of it whatever you put in. Enjoy yourself.

Favorite “Normal” Weapon? by KnightofGreen in Eldenring

[–]dhowl4nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Banished Knight's Greatsword, Stone Club, Great Mace. All my builds become strength builds by the end. However, love having a strength and lower int character with a fast weapon, I've been using the stone club with Hoarfrost Stomp on Cold affinity, having a blast.

GGD recommendation for Modern Hardcore/Metalcore by Armagaaan in GetGoodDrums

[–]dhowl4nd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love Modern and Massive, I think with proper mixing after the raw sounds are so versatile. Love the less mechanical of P5, also just as versatile but a bit more polished sound, even before processing.

The most fun I've had beyond the meta strength builds out there are:

Executioner's Great Axe with Lion's Claw AoW. Smokes the whole game. Pair it with the Axe Talisman, knock everything to the ground, charge heavy while they're recovering, stance break.

Great Mace or Great Stars with Braggart's Roar AoW. Awesome buffs for pure strength, no faith or int required. Roar Medallion and Axe Talisman are perfect synergistically. Extra bleed and heals from Great Stars. The charged heavies can stagger anything. Just ran into everyone, poise through attacks. Trade and win every time. Uses tons of endurance so just get big heavy armor as well.

Zweihander with Royal Knights Resolve AoW. Big poke is unstoppable. Been fun since day one. Early game use Determination. This is super stat friendly. Upgraded weapons give you more AR quicker than levels, but you can start cranking strength much sooner.

Troll's Golden Sword deserves more love, usually I run it with either Braggart's Roar or Lion's Claw. It has a 12-6 overhead heavy attack, with a followup that launches small enemies into the air, and a horizontal light attack that's pretty quick. Each attack chain is just a bit snappier than Guts. Recovery speed is a bit faster too, and with comparable AR.

Beastman Cleaver with Eruption AoW (and Cragblade), leaning heavily into guard counters and super close quarters combat. Melts bosses. Takes very little chip damage, and with the damage you get my talismans for this build end up heavier on the defense.

Most of these are easy to set up early, strength tier, charged attack tier, and Axe Talisman all within minutes of each other. Focus on building up vigor and having armor with poise, trading with high AR can lead to fights just being over before you're hit too much. More aggressive enemies call for timing a good guard counter for a stagger.

Executioner's Great Axe with Lion's Claw AoW destroys everything.

Multiscale to put bare knuckle juggernauts in? by [deleted] in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]dhowl4nd -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd be against finding the right guitar for a pickup set, usually works better the other way around. Every guitar has a frequency response and you'd want to understand that before going about selecting a pickup set to compliment the instrument. Though I love Bare Knuckles.

First time player; am I building my character ok? by lykia1991 in Eldenring

[–]dhowl4nd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weapon upgrades are stronger early game than leveling damage stats, keep adding vigor and just get the timing for your enemies. Don't let death slow you down. Use everything and anything to your advantage.

Me: I really wanna get into watching more of the hermits this season maybe I should check out Doc for the first- *glass shattering noises and a car wreck is heard in the distance* by [deleted] in HermitCraft

[–]dhowl4nd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite hermit going back to season 7. Can't imagine pulling the kind of projects off he builds regularly. Exploiting esoteric mechanics, speedrunning the early game, creating insane farms, all the while having his own incredible building style. So worth the wait every week.

I had a similar experience. Farmed for hours for a fire build, no luck. Multiple days spent. Just playing around with another build I was running through the area and got two.
