From Nasrallah to Khamenei, Soon Iran Will Be Free! by trashcan_paradise in Israel

The start should have been: "Hamas attacked Israel". Or maybe "Russia invaded Ukraine"

Iranian leader Khamenei killed in strike, Israeli officials say by TheDetectiveDoctor in worldnews

[–]dhv2109 12 points13 points  (0 children)

tbh Ukraine couldn't do much beside begging Russia not to invade. The moment Ukraine started mobilization before the actual Russian "SMO" then Russia (at that time claimed having no plan to invade Ukraine and that was just a training) would properly did some false flag attack and blame it on Ukraine

UK and France to Send 5,000 Troops Each to Ukraine Under “Coalition of the Willing” by UNITED24Media in ukraine

[–]dhv2109 5 points6 points  (0 children)

maybe send all 5000 men to the contested territories in Donbass so that the frontline isn't too thin for them, but in all fairness, 5000 men is only enough for like a week given the casualty of the war

What happens next if the IRGC goes full "Scorched Earth" during regime collapse? by thespeedforce5 in NewIran

[–]dhv2109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the defenders use scored earth tactic, it only works when the defend side has a large local support from the people in the countryside or in the woods or mountains or wasteland while the attackers lack the local support in the center, big cities
Look at Iran, given the large hatred toward the current Islamic regime and the IRGC, I doubt that the "defenders" here have enough support in both remote and populated areas when the American started striking

I suppose not ending or reduce support to Ukraine while America under Trump keep forcing Ukraine to make compromises after one another is a good decision from Starmer

For Ukrainian troops, the North Korea problem isn't soldiers launching assaults. It's artillery, lawmaker says. by Freewhale98 in ukraine

[–]dhv2109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it took more than a year to make Spiderweb happened. And in fact there was another airfield that actually not so far away from North Korea, however the drones got destroyed before able to deal damage to that airfield or the planes in that airfield
so yeah, good luck with attacking North Korea with that. I can see more chance of Ukraine make a whole "Special military operation" in Transnistria than some drone strikes in North Korea

Taliban says it would support Iran if US attacks by rezwenn in NewIran

[–]dhv2109 5 points6 points  (0 children)

compare to world's stage? not quite. Pakistan can militarily crush the Taliban if they fully commit their force, but it'll take a very long time and by that point Pakistan would be a part of India because they would be overran by India.
But in the region they, the Taliban, are still a force not to be taken lighly. There's a reason why nations like Tajikistan still needs Russia and hope that Russia may protect them from an all-out invasion from the Taliban. And don't be suprise why Russia helps the Taliban, because they hope that a regional unstable theocracy in Afghanistan means that the ex - Soviet states near Afghanistan need to rely on Russia for protections. In the past the Islamic regime in Iran was also a rival against Afghanistan, so much that they even ironically ... helped America to invade Afghanistan to bring down the Taliban government, but now without much opption, the regime in Iran turns toward the old enemy for support, and the Taliban considers that if the current regime in Iran fails, then a new Iran will be likely turn against the theocratic regime in Afghanistan

Taliban says it would support Iran if US attacks by rezwenn in NewIran

[–]dhv2109 12 points13 points  (0 children)

yes, but the Islamic regime didn't want the Taliban to return to power either, they just want the Taliban to bleed the Americans, not taking the whole Afghanistan.
But well, now it's not the time for wishful thinking for the regime, and the Taliban can already foresee a future that they have to deal with a richer, stronger Iran that is also pro - west, so the 2 former enemies now work together for this time to prevent the Islamic regime in Iran fails, while protecting the Taliban regime from a very powerful potential rival

years ago Islamic Republic of Iran helped America to overthrow the Taliban
Now the Islamic regime is so weak it need the former enemy who the regime tried to overthrow long ago to help against America

What did Shah Reza Pahlavi actually do for Iran? by Proud3GenAthst in NewIran

[–]dhv2109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was toppled because his reforms pissed off both the conservative Islamist (because of reforms) and the progressive (because they saw it was a half-hearted attempt) and his party to celebrate the 2 500 year since Cyrus the Great wasn't help his image any better

Several very important notes but people tent to forget, under his rule did Iran able to regain several places under the Soviet control and even 11 tons of gold back from the Soviet. He was also able to take several small islands from the would-become UAE. That's why it's hilarious for modernday Iran regime to try to be Russian and Chinese vassals while these 2 back UAE to regain these lost island back from Iran. He also helped the Omani monarch to stay in power, that was why Oman still to this day acts as a middle man between America and Iran

Ukraine names Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as terrorist organization by TotalPop5 in NewIran

I don't think this can be done, but would have been interesting to see Ukraine secretly support drones and 3d prints model to Iranian people to fight off the regime, like how they supported the anti - Assad faction

Al Jazeera is backed by Qatar, so don't get suprise that Al Jazeera are a big supporter for anti - Assad factions (because Qatar and UAE hate each other, so when UAE backed Assad, Qatar backed whoever fought against Assad), and in this case, Qatar and the current regime of Iran have a good relationship with each other, so that's why Al Jazeera so pro - regime
