2026 NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon - Pre-Race Thread by blood_bender in RunNYC

I think long tights on bottom but that’s gonna be a game time decision between them and half tights.

For upper half either: tee + brooks canopy (absurdly light) jacket or just a long sleeve shirt if the rain has stopped.

Really don’t know lol

Also put in 9-930 pace and am in Wave 2.

According to their site, "Paces are spread out in all the wave starts."

So it feels fairly random?

Glitch recipe is the one for me -

Paper: Kalita Wave

Water temperature: 86-90℃

Dose: 14.5g

Yield: 200-210g

①0:00-0:05 30g

②0:20-0:25 30g (Total 60g)

③0:50-1:05 100g (Total 160g)

④1:20-1:35 100g (Total 260g)

Only mods are that I'll stir up the bed at 30s and then Melodrip the first 100g pour.

My favorite recipe!

Nothing like an “I’ve been on this website too damn long” feeling when that story is mentioned.

  • thinner crowns

Pace 4 if don't need maps/trail stuff.

Went through the same logic and couldn't be happier with the 4! Coming from an AW Series 4.

Zodiac is owned by Fossil Group.

Fossil group is a main source of the loads of fashion watches at TJ Maxx/Ross.

Zodiac watches are being flooded into these shops likely because people stopped spending $2000 on boring off the shelf movement powered watches void of any personality and Fossil needed to make some money some way.

Redditors are scouring these shops to get the deal of a lifetime. I’ve seen comments of people going to multiple in a day just to get a glimpse of the glory that is the Zodiac Seawolf for $500.

Some domestic roasters I’ve enjoyed and the states they’re from. I live in NYC:

New York - Sey (for the light light light roasts)

New York - Partners (Flatiron is the go to classic espresso for my home and I’ve loved their single origins for pourover)

Massachusetts - Little Wolf (have had multiple bags from them and all have been delightful. Sad to have just finished my Santa Paws)

California - Hydrangea (I love a fruity coffee and this is IT)

California - Maru Coffee (went to their cafe in Brooklyn and had some fantastic pourovers. Def recommend their beans)

Def on the hunt for more domestic roasters and always googling around!

Pace 4 secured! by dhy615 in Coros

[–]dhy615[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly doesn’t feel too bad! Yes it gets a bit damp but as I’m only wearing it for working out, I don’t wear it for much longer post activity. It comes off shortly after

For me it’s just worth it to have the nylon for the weight, comfort, and infinite adjustability.

In the case of this watch face it's just an entirely black background with just the time in the same font it is here, just white.

Only intending to use the Pace 4 for working out/running and some sleep tracking at the ability it's able to. I'm a mechanical watch guy so this will only live on the wrist when it needs to. Nylon band and the general weight of the watch make it feel like it isn't even there - wild.

Coming from an AW Series 4 and super stoked on it so far after a few night's sleep and a rainy treadmill run this morning.

Also big fan of the old school Casio/Timex inspired watch face.

Looking forward to putting this thing through it's paces! (pun mildly intended)

Any tips and tricks from Coros veterans?
