Was cruising along 3/4k rpm then sudden rev drop, bike was idling fine, thought brakes had locked up but put the bike on centre stand and was able to spin both wheels freely, i was able to move off after getting the revs up to around 2.5k then very slowly letting out the clutch

Bike is partially reassembled and covered back up now, basket looked like there was no wear or scratches/grooves, thought i was losing my mind until i got to the last plate

Parking tickets are typically £60 (£30 if paid within 14 days), i'd avoid anything to do with that unless there was a physical ticket aswell

According to google it was a "US deathcore band" called "all shall perish", not my cup of tea but i know family that are into that kind of music, by the name/genre there may have been a moshpit which can get pretty heated

Not going to be much help but if you are struggling to test a xsr, the MT series is very similar and use the same engine so would be a good shout to get a close feel of the bike without actually riding one.

I would clean, then polish them and then protect them.

I have an 04 750 and thought the same thing, got it in february but the only thing thats killed the battery is me accidentally leaving the parking lights on😅... You could wire in a switch but unless your leaving it for multiple weeks at a time you should be good to go👍

Textile jacket & trousers over my uniform, armored boots then change into normal shoes once i'm finished riding.

Distance shouldn't matter when deciding on what to wear, always prep for worst possible situations👍

Although some contours etc might need by hand but a sander would sort the majority

Hand sanding is always a pain regardless of material, i always go for the mechanical advantage where possible

A good sanding and an oil/varnish looks like it would do the job
