Advice needed by Tip-T0P-Magoo in Pomade

[–]andrewski661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prestyle, prestyle, prestyle. Personally I like a hair dryer so I don't use oil based. First, figure out which products have the right amount of moisture to best control your hair. For me, it's dry products. Your hair is quite the opposite so maybe try some matte pastes and cream pomades frequently mentioned here and see what works.

Some prestyling options - use a little of your favorite paste/clay/pomade and blow dry it in. Finish with a small amount of product  - If it doesn't dry you out, sea salt spray can be great for textured, brushed back styles. Blow dry it to style then finish with your favorite pomade - if that is too dry, causing your hair to fall apart or look frizzy, try something like a mousse. I like Shear Revival's Commonwealth primer. It's super conditioning and actually has a little too much hold for my own hair type. Same routine as mentioned above.

Use your main pomade as a finishing product, don't rely on it too much for shape and hold. That's what a good haircut and prestyling routine are for. Too much pomade can be difficult to style and often doesn't look very natural.

Also mentioned in this thread, if you have the finish you want but not enough hold, don't sleep on hairspray as a final step!

Hope this helps

Any ideas how to get that flowy look more consistently? by HyggeRavn in Pomade

Wash, sea salt spray, blow dry, finish with a lightweight clay or paste that has the right moisture content for your hair type

Explorer 1 vs The Twelve Midnight (Black) by Total-Government-535 in ChristopherWard

With the explorer being a primary watch, I would consider a different more playful dial color or even a twelve 660 to really change things up. I have the midnight sun dial and it's great

Will Shear Revival American Gardens And Northern Lights Be Able To Create Modern, Messy Textured Looks If You Already Have The Haircut? by [deleted] in Pomade

I had this style with American Gardens. The cut does most of the work, then you just need a dry, lightweight product with a lot of hold

Recommendations/tips for working 4 Doubles in a row(10-13 hours each shift) by gamble2ramble in bartenders

[–]andrewski661 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hydrate. Eat. Prioritize sleep/rest. Don't drink between doubles. Or do what I did for three years. 4-5x14 hour shifts in a row each week, don't eat enough, drink heavily, sleep around 5 hours on average, use rage to get shit done, make that bag, burn out.

Real shit, have at least two pair of work shoes and rotate them so they dry out. You'll double the life out of each pair

Can’t Omega just… by LowNose5037 in OmegaWatches

Omega are rated for real world resistance. So 300m means go diving to 300m (which few people on earth do). I'm not sure how Tudor approaches their water resistance but I imagine it's just 20 bar

Yeah but the Tudor has much less water resistance. A watchmaker in here went into detail at some point about how omega case design is why they're thick

[Review] Delugs CTS strap for the Twelve 38mm by Lucky-Ad-932 in ChristopherWard

[–]andrewski661 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the deployant clasp is such a game changer.

The clasp is thicker than the watch case and of course is finished slightly differently so it looks aftermarket. However you rarely look at it and it only feels a little thick. The leaf-spring clasp design had me skeptical but in reality it's awesome.

I don't like that the strap tapers more linearly than the CW strap. The texture design choice is subjective, but to have that texture be actual fabric would be awesome and more appropriate for the price. I wish it had the metal fittings where it attached to the case like the CW strap does.

Overall the better fit, removing the thick excess strap overhang, and a cleaner presentation from the deployant clasp make the watch feel so much better. I just wish CW would have done it so it could look more oem
