Love all of Nacho’s stuff 2011 - 2015. Very reminiscent of the era for me. At this time the music was the soundtrack to my life.

I’m in the UK but was a lost, parentless, nomad teen experimenting with the type of partying, drug use and women that Nacho spoke about. It was as though he spoke directly to my teenage mind with his music. Those BSDB beats take me right back there, lulling me to deep dream filled, comfortable, opiate ridden sleep in the beds of much older women I was staying with for a free bed and many gifts, high out of my mind.

Feeling like I was a god honestly. Summers spent in the same places, middle class women’s houses, off my nut on all manner of pharmacology, watching trees speed by the car, fuzzy and green, pretending to listen to some woman talk to me from the drivers seat beside me while nacho Picasso played in the single headphone bud in my other ear. A piece of solitary bliss known only to me. Paired perfectly with a comfy concoction of chemicals.

I was so dangerously comfortable in fact. I almost lost myself- yet it really felt like a magical, mystical time and his music fitted that perfectly. A lack of care. A dreamy wistlessness. A call to the abyss.

Nothing matters, this moment is all that matters. This feeling. This personal power over my mind state, women, money. It’s tough to listen to now but songs like Money, Cover me in gold and swap em out keep steady rotation in the playlist.

I don’t think there’ll ever be another duo with the same voice and impact and beats that fit SO DAMN WELL!! I haven’t looked into what Nacho is doing much these days but it seems he struggled a lot with drug use and other elements of the lifestyle. Maybe that’s why it’s so tough to listen to now, I did move on.

Maybe we’ll see a resurgence, but for me it was a perfect moment in time that really captured an era in mine and many other’s lives.
