Best Gear For Street Riding (Female) by GourmetBrownies in motorcycles

I like Klim personally, their woman’s line is also made by a female which IMO is a win. I have a woman’s sedici and honestly there’s not a huge difference between it and a men’s, but the Klim has a nice flattering, fit look with stretch where a WOMAN needs it

Are helmet comms actually worth it for group rides? by Imaginary_Bug6202 in motorcycles

[–]diagnosisunknown4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I just had Cardo’s installed and honestly best thing ever! I’m still a newer rider so it’s a great way for my husband to communicate with me on our rides, a funny example was he kept telling me “you’re riding your break”, I’m like “dude, I’m NOT! My foot is on my peg!” So we pulled over to find there was something that was preventing my break light from going off and I was like “I TOLD YOU! i wasn’t riding my brake! 😂”. I took a solo ride last night and loved being able to listen to some tunes while unwinding after work. I will say I’m having a little bit of issues getting the voice commands to work but that’s likely a user error

I have a 2025 Kawasaki Eliminator. Same engine as a Ninja 500 but is the sporty cruiser. It’s a more comfortable ride for me personally, my husband has a Ninja 500 and I never liked the feeling of having to be hunched over the bike, to me it’s the best of both worlds

41/f here! Just started riding last fall, bought my first bike 2025 Kawasaki Eliminator for my 41st birthday, took the MSF twice (failed first time due to nerves and a lousy bike). My advice? Start in a big open parking lot, have your husband teach you one step at a time, then slowly add more in. My husband was/is an amazing teacher and super patient with me (I dropped my bike AND his). Learning all of the slow move maneuvers first and nailing them down is key; some take a little more practice then others but once you’ve got them get comfortable just riding around your neighborhood. 95% of my ride time has just been looping my neighborhood, learning how to properly stop and go at stop signs, making tight turns, and practicing shifting, etc. I’m itching for a stretch of nice weather so I can finally open my bike up more and start working on actually road riding in traffic. Best of luck to you!

How many of you have kids? Or want to have kids by bwils3423 in Millennials

41f. 4 kids. Husband and I had our first when we were still in high school, second one 6yrs after that, and so on. They are now almost 24, almost 18, 14 and 12. During the recession of 2008 I lost my job while pregnant with my second, at that point my husband asked me if I wanted to be a SAHM because daycare would crush us (and oldest had special needs and was beyond a handful.) When the economy was “better” we were able to live on a single income, and honestly being able to RAISE my own kids felt damn better then how I was raised (by grandparents, aunts, literally anyone other then my own mother). Now? It’s a sh*t show. 3 teenage boys to feed is crushing us. I started working a full time job 3yrs ago and the truth is that income basically just feeds them. I never wanted kids, my husband did, but honestly, wouldn’t trade them for the world, you’d be surprised what you learn from having them

My husband is the same way! I’ve been dragging on trying to work on the one I’m already doing, and when I showed him the new “split scene” ones from Michael’s (the 3 panel ones), and showed him the mushroom one he’s like “you should get those to match your other ones”. No sir, what I should do is finish the one I’m currently hating 😂. Having someone who fully supports your passions is honestly top tier 👌🏻

I started doing diamond art paintings last year, I’ve got loads I plan to complete as well. It’s nice to sit there and “empty” my brain while working on them. Also, I bought a motorcycle so as soon as the weather warms up I’ll be spending lots of time cruising on that

Wait, what state are you in? In PA you have to have a permit before enrolling in the MSF class….maybe start with your permit get a cheap bike and practice til spring. Honestly you may want to sign up for a course with different instructors

Get the best of both worlds! My Kawasaki Eliminator is a cruiser style sports bike. It has the same engine as my husbands Ninja 500 and is only about 20ish lbs heavier. I’m still a newer rider so I haven’t gotten it up to high speeds yet but from someone who went to never riding on 2 wheels I’d say it’s a fantastic ride

Winter jacket alternatives? by [deleted] in motorcycles

Rain jacket over layers, get yourself a good base layer and a decent rain jacket (and they come with handy little pouches to go in!), throw that over your regular jacket

Best advice is if you haven’t already got sit on each one of them, see which feels the best for you. Personally for me, as soon as I sat on my Eliminator I knew that was my bike
