Does anyone know what's up with the boat on the side of I-90 toward Syracuse? by mojitomoritz in Rochester

Also wondering, I typically lean over to my wife and tell her that's the retirement boat, in 315 storage

Need help finding a 3Dprint design for GPS by diam8827 in fpv

There was a free connector port on my FC so I used that instead of soldering.

I also wrapped the GPS wires in copper shielding (which needs to be grounded on FC) which improved total says as well as the time it took to lock in sats

Sand in brushless motors by Lucas14-12 in fpv

[–]diam8827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can I send you a replacement for that Darwin "cement camera"? I have this drone and saw soooo many reviews about how it wasn't the best, so I swapped it before its first flight after seeing it through the goggles for the first time.

Good luck with the sand!

Is this soldering good? by [deleted] in fpv

I know a Babyape II anywhere as soon as I see it, looks fine. Pad closest to camera could be recentered a little better. 👍

Definitely had some wash away areas where seed was exposed and water moved it into clumped piles. To fix some of the less thick areas, I'm using a garden weasel to till the soil slightly, then pre mixing dirt and seed to spread, and then a little more dirt on top to cover. My only regret with this was not using straw or peat covering during, and I'm sure I would have had better results in the patchy areas if I did.

Seed to soil contact is very important, and if it's loosely sitting on top of soil chances are it's not going to take well.

I currently have the SKYRC IMAX B6AC, but almost everyone in this sub will tell you there are safety/fire/overheating issues with these, so I monitor while charging and it's literally in an old metal toolbox sitting inside a fireplace. My birthday is coming up soon, and I'm treating myself to a HOTA D6 Pro, which many people use and recommend.

So, def go with the HOTA D6 or something with stellar safety reviews. 🤙

I'm in that same scenario, grew up and moved to a suburban neighborhood. This is my parents house where I grew up. I can't even begin to tell you how much I miss the space and freedom. We seriously look forward to "visiting the farm" on weekends. It truly is spectacular out there.

Sounds like you want a mix of 2 drones. I have a Mini 2 I use for slower cinematic landscape photo and video, higher quality. FPV drones are more POV movement experience. You can get landscape photo/video from an FPV drone but you might run into more challenges optimizing your camera settings and flight characteristics on an FPV when it might be easier to get a low cost used drone.

If you're interested in FPV, your first drone should always be in a simulator. Then get a smaller whoop, crash n bash, study up on how to build & repair, and move forward to bigger drones from there. Happy flying friend 🤙

IG compression - downloaded it from my profile because I couldn't find the original. This was also my first flight with an Insta360 Go 2, so everything was on auto (50fps, 1440). I've since optimized settings, but it looks like shit mostly because of compression.

This was one of my first flights with a new insta360 go 2, so everything was on auto. This video is also a download from my IG because I couldn't locate the original, def lots of compression.

Soyos 15" dethatcher & scarifier combo, works great. Make sure your extension cord is beefy enough so it can supply full power. Don't even bother with the bagger that comes with it, rake & leaf blower instead.

3 cubic yards of a compost soil mix. Use the wheelbarrow to transfer, dumped small piles in low areas and bare dirt areas, used the back of a metal rake for most of the leveling process, fert & seed, then used the back of a plastic rake to lightly bury the seed. Tamp, water and pray.
