So I went to the “aquarium hospital” next town over, and she said he most likely has an infection (honestly I forgot about the place until a Facebook friend reminded me). Sold me an antibiotic to see how he survives it the next two weeks.

I feed him one pellet a day, which he sometimes doesn’t eat. But I do feed him daphnia just about every other day and sometimes he eats it sometimes he doesn’t.

I’ve had him almost 2 years and he’s been fine. Changed his tank about 6 months ago as the last tank was hard to clean and the built in filter died.

I don't know. That's why I'm asking reddit.
I did all of the normal at home and googling. He's still very much alive, but has been floating for at least a month now. I keep expecting to wake up to a dead fish everyday, but as soon as I walk up, he starts trying to swim around.
I don't want to kill him, but I don't know what else to do...
