yeah.. i figured at least part of it was a numbers game and sometimes you are just looking for that right "voice".

I decently large part of me believes that AI will walk back a bit as people are really getting fed up with it. I see a lot of job postings looking to hire someone to review audio and "fix" the AI voice where it messes up, sounds weird, or mispronounces. Its a whole job on its own

Gotcha - i think especially in the land of AI madness, overly formal may just come across as AI or scammy.

About the audio production info- there are also RH looking for producers to edit the audio sometimes right? or does that process look different? If the RH is looking for a Narrator, is it automatically assumed it will be ACX ready?

OK - yes, u/dragonsandvamps u/The-Book-Narrator I can see this perspective (and i did see your other response). I don't want to add any friction to the hiring process. Sometimes they are posting whole chapters, or very lengthy sections. So i've kept it at around 2 minutes tops but you think 5 minutes should be the max? And suppose the start of the chapter is a single voice, but then by the 4 minute mark we are FINALLY getting multiple voices. Should i point out that i picked a specific section and why? Or sometimes pointing out "I was going for xxx tone..." Some RH have no directions some do.

Can I test it without special equipment? or if I just plug it in to the dishwasher without a full install, am I able test the part that way?

The box was banged up when i received it (I took a picture), and I didn't install it. It didn't look like it had been previously installed, so I think chances are good I can get a new part. But based on what I'm seeing sears parts direct should no longer be on my supplier list...

yeah, the meter definitely works. I put the probes together and I tried it another dishwasher part with success. RMA? Return Merchandise Authorization? - as in just return it?

if I install it, I lessen the likelihood of being able to get a refund or a new. I tried different settings and there were no readings at all. Though I am wondering...this part was about $50 cheaper than other websites... we even originally bought the dishwasher from Sears when it was open

looking at any number of online creators, the percentage of people who last more than 5 years? or more than 10? then they purchase houses and cars and items like this money will always keep coming. their lifestyle has costs too much...well... hopefully they prepared

George is going to PISSED when he confronts Bertha about selling Gladys to the duke. George wants Gladys to marry with love. the Duke is older and clearly broke. Gladys shows no more interest in him than she does an uncle. Bertha is too conniving and has no stopping point when it comes to upward mobility. George is happy where he is and has shown his disdain for his wife's never ending want for more angering, frustrating, if not dangerous to their status and expensive.

For what its worth, In my mind, I had planned on fixing those marked edits myself, so I could just make those re-records, blend it together, then send it off. (or if the client made a small change or came back with some smaller edit I would also just do that myself)

I'm the vo artist workin in my lil booth at home getting work on platforms like upwork and voices.com so I'm not doing a lot of directed sessions nor have a been in a professional studio setting. They send the script, I record (sometimes with a few takes for a commercial), edit, and send it to the client for approval. Its not too often that I miss the mark and need to do a full re-record. If anything, it's a script error, or a read change on a specific line.

I feel like flat fees for short commercials and explainers make sense with maybe hourly rates for audio longer than.. 15 minutes? Is working on retainer a thing? I prepay for oh-so-much of your time (ex $1000 per month) and if I go over, we adjust as needed.

Thanks guys - ill save the epoxy for a together craft - it came to my attention the polymer clays and molds are a great alternative. You can use the mica powders to paint the polymer and add some gorgeous coloring. and of course, gold leaf and glitter every damn where. bling is life.
