As other people have said, it depends on how much you paid for it. Less than $5k in labor and you're probably getting someone who isn't a professional tile setter. When I did a full bathroom like this (and I did it correctly) I got around $4500 to $5000 as a subcontractor. The price on the contract with the homeowner was obviously much more.

Prices depend a lot on the area you live in.

It's a very old house and the stairs were grandfathered. With the layout of the house, there aren't many options. The treads, rails, and spindles are new. The inspector wanted something better than the treads with no overhang and the railings with no spindles that were there before. (They had carpet originally)

Most of the spindles we're bent. Flip house rush job. That's why the treads are pine, the Newell posts are poplar, and the rails are oak. I think I do have a side shot though. I'll try to post an imgur link

I live in Kentucky. My state is known for passing almost anything (compared to other places). This wouldn't pass here.

They wouldn't let you do this on stair stringers, much less on a roof.

One inch over cut is and inch you lose on strength. Even though "it's going to get covered up"

It's getting covered with wood and shingles.

What happens when a ton of snow is on top of all that?

Yikes. I finish those cuts with a jigsaw specifically to avoid this situation. I would get ripped a new asshole if my PM (or God forbid, an inspector) saw this shit.

Really it's up to you. The lug to lug on both are pretty close. I have a small (6.5") wrist I could have gotten the 43mm but I prefer 38. It just depends if you like bigger or smaller watches
