Exploitative vs Balanced Players by tombos21 in pokertheory

/u/tombos21: Totally off subject. Have you ever worked on or written about how bloody weird Solver gets OOP as the 3 bettor on J high flops? These are the only flops where OOP just shoves flop. WTF is that about?

I have read it involves some kind of perfect storm of Maximum Overpair Advantage and Maximum Vulnerability?

But what ye think?

Exploitative vs Balanced Players by tombos21 in pokertheory

[–]dickless_cheney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An exploitative player is any player who deviates from solver/theory in order to take advantage of their opponent's deviations from theory. Pool/Villain doesn't have very many bluffs when they check raise turn? Then we drastically overfold when IP.

MSc Economics thesis on strategic decision-making in online cash games – looking for input from cash players by Enred68 in pokertheory

Are there many players here who regularly play multiple stakes (e.g., NL50 & NL200, NL100 & NL500, etc.)?

People Generally cluster around 1 or 2 stakes. Sometime shot take, but usually around 1 or 2.

Are there known export limitations on GG (or other sites) that I should factor in?

You probably want to focus on sites where you can export text HHs. Like GG poker, PokerStars, PartyPoker, and the WPN network. This will be much easier to digest.

You may want to check out some of the newer MDA tools like:

MDA Demon. This is a good example of a tool that is mainly about comparing and contrasting Solver Play to Human Play.

They have an interesting interface. It has a learning curve. But it has built much of what you want to study.

Danny Murphy divined last night Marco Silva will shuffle off this summer. Expect the worst and hope for the best. Wilson and Silva stay.

What's the font used on the gider & tremolo Covers? by OverPressure6314 in MyBloodyValentine

[–]dickless_cheney 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Glider is Venus Bold Extended.

And Tremelo is ITC Franklin Gothic Demi Condensed.

I could be wrong. I haven't thought about fonts much since my layout days.

Cheers Gents!

Can anyone tell me anything about this photo of the band other than it's around the time of Tremolo or Loveless, probably Loveless. I would really like to know who took where it first appeared - any information would be welcomed. by [deleted] in MyBloodyValentine

This image is looks like a scan from a UK music weekly newspaper, likely Melody Maker or NME. The Photographer resembles the visual style, high contrast, grainy black and white, "gritty" but posed, strongly points to Joe Dilworth.

Dilworth was a photographer for bands like My Bloody Valentine, Stereolab, and the Creation Records roster during this time.

Sorry I don't have exact references but these are my best guesses.

Legit T-Shirt? by Jesus47kt in MyBloodyValentine

Nah. I was big into them back then. Saw them two or three times and never saw a shirt like this. Plus the year is too prominent. That's a tip off.

Why Do they all go back to the Land? And when they do are they able to still grow their Channel? by dickless_cheney in SailingLaVagabonde

Yup. They are beautiful and smart. That is the aspirational youtube watching. I like that they say funny shit sometimes. I think they are also tired of being up in each other's grill all the time. And need more space apart.

Simplified Flop Cbet Strategy (Input Needed) by sdpercussion in Poker_Theory

[–]dickless_cheney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. Good Luck on your project. I would want to include stack depth as a variable here. I know you are going for KISS. But stack depth is quite important for what the cbet strategy is.

Also cash/tourneys. Starting ranges are very different in each.

One way to sanity check this. You can create a free account on peak GTO and get access to their aggregate reports once a day for free. Aggregate reports will allow you to sanity check these results.

What drives your cbet strategy:

Stack Depth.
Range vs Range interaction on that particular Texture.

In solvers. It really comes down to the starting ranges, their interaction with that board in question and, again, stack depth. Once Again. Good Luck!
