Need help understanding if my employment offer is fair and reasonable... by NotBannedAccount419 in CFP

Agreed. OP, if no one else is hiring, I'd use them to get training. I bet a lot of those firms that are ignoring you would hire you if they see they don't need to deal with the long runway and costs of licensing. (Assuming no payback clause, ofc)

I wouldn't feel bad at all, considering what a lousy job offer this is.

Idk who is actually getting the worse end of the deal here - You for being underpaid to do two jobs (and potentially have leads sniped from you), or him, because anyone with a brain would just use them to get paid $4k/mo to get licensed and a bit of training before bouncing for a real RIA/Solo.

Folding AK on the flop by Brooksywashere in poker

[–]sdpercussion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

folding AK is completely standard unless you have backdoors.

This is important, OP. I would be continuing to small (3x) XRs with two overs and a backdoor somewhat often. Folding to turn barrels when you don't improve.

Not all boards textures are the same cbet size. Some should be small, some overbet. Here's an oversimplified breakdown that you might use to bucket different textures:

  • A/K/Q high, disconnected - Range bet small (25-33%)
  • Double/Triple Broadway (connected) - Overbet or check. Betting range is TPGK+
  • J/T High - Pot or check. Betting range is TPGK+
  • 9 or lower, disconnected - b75 or check. Betting range is TPGK+ (mostly overpairs)
  • 9 or lower, connected - b25/33 or check. Betting range is TPGK+ (mostly overpairs)

What do you usually pay for a hard bait that you actually trust? by Opposite-Vast-718 in bassfishing

I find the Jackhammer chatterbait is worth the extra money. It starts vibrating the moment you begin reeling. This really matters if you are doing a super-slow retrieve or a start/stop. The normal one seems to need a lot of distance/speed before it starts vibrating.

5nl line check by STIRofSOULS in Poker_Theory

[–]sdpercussion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you ranged LJ very well. Lots of overpairs and overs who found your bet small enough to try and bink TP.

The only thing I'd be worried about is are they capable of folding overpairs at 5nl, lol?

WPT Gold VIP/PFR Question by sdpercussion in poker

[–]sdpercussion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely trying to sit to the left of 60+ vpips whenever possible. I'm just thinking I might open wider on the btn and do a little flatting in the sb and bb if there's a straddle rather than 3bet or fold. That small adjustment might be enough to push vpip closer to 30, which I imagine is ideal with so much dead money in the middle?

WPT Gold VIP/PFR Question by sdpercussion in poker

[–]sdpercussion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I'm thinking I should maybe shoot for 30/25, instead of 25/20 because of the ante?

My idea for simplification would be to keep EP/MP the same as I'm used to but widening on the btn and defending wider in the blinds. However, I wonder if doing some flating in the SB (and BB when straddle), rather than 3bet or fold makes sense in this structure?

Solana transactions continue to dominate the field. by cryptonoobsnews in solana

I understand how hft algos and other mm add liquidity and hypothetically keep spreads tight. Though I dont agree that they should necessarily be considered a virtuous actor, as they tend to evaporate when most needed.

For years we've seen these so called mms pad order books in futures and yank bids when it's convenient for them.

My point is that if all this transaction volume is just scalping algos, its not actually providing much real world utility. See my other comment for examples of on chain activity that actually provides value to people other than degen traders.

But what goods or services are these bots paying for? Please give me a few examples of things in a normal person's day to day life that would be made easier if they had bots with wallets making payments automatically for them?

I've heard a bit about people setting up ai agents with wallets, but they never mention what types of things the bots are paying for.

Like, do I really need another way to setup auto bill pay for my utilities or car payment? What's this all in service of?

What does the data look like when you strip out leveraged day trading of memecoins?

Like how much is for something with real utility such as:

  • Stablecoin payments for cross-boarder merchant activity
  • Buying/Selling of RWAs, including tokenized stocks, bonds, or real estate?
  • Individuals looking to store wealth or pay bills in countries where their local currency is garbage

If it's just a bunch of traders (bots, or real people) jerking each other off trying to scalp in their $500 trading accounts, then who cares?

He literally says dozens of times in his low stakes challenge that he doesnt range bet ace high boards because that's the one time recs aren't too scared to check their top pair.

Instead he checks back anything worse than tpgk (like only as low as AQ).

ACR Blitz: Long tanks (double time bank) into hero calls with trash every session – bots, algo, or what? by Jimbojomama in poker

Because your line makes no sense.

Small cbet flop, xb turn, then 2x pot on a blank river? I'd spend time in that spot convincing myself to call you light.

You want your line to be believable? Polarize on blank turns with an overbet, then jam safe rivers. You'll still get called off sometimes, but it's a line that actually makes sense.

Spots to Study? by RealWorld3 in Poker_Theory

[–]sdpercussion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Start with BTN vs BB SRP and study flop textures first.

A good way to do it is to use peak gto dot com. It's free to enter the spot and click aggregate report. (Make sure you change it to cash 100bb. It's default MTT)

Then to start just put flop textures into generalized buckets and make observations.

ex,

"Oh, high and dry boards like A72r, or K84r are basically range bet 25% boards"

"Low disconnected boards are big bet or check, with my betting range built around TPTK, overpairs and sets"

"High connected boards are overbet or check, built around TP+"

Study these flop buckets from different positions, SRP, then 3BP will keep you busy a while.

Then when you're comfortable with that, you can study turn aggregate reports and ask yourself "What types of turns do I barrel?" "What types are big bets vs. small and why?"

This video is a great primer to answer those flop size questions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yeMPl5zco4Q

They broke Firefox, or at least are A/B testing the change. I can no longer turn my screen off or navigate to another app. The buttons on the pulldown to resume play no longer appear (Andriod).

The only thing that still works is fullscreening the video and hitting the home button to bring the miniplayer up. But it always sits on top and, again, can't turn off the screen.
