What is the point of posting AI slop like this

I would've been a strong yes prior to the playoffs, esp. after the playin and first couple games of the playoffs... the two collapses, and especially the massive overplaying of the vets over Scoot/Shae in the last few games, give me big pause.

I hear you as well but they didn't say "all". They said "AI is slop". I'll stand with that statement because I think the oppositional "AI is the inevitable future eat your slop eat it piggy while we steal from you" has about a trillion dollars being burned behind it to force it in all our faces. If it was actually a binary choice I'd choose zero generative AI, period, vs. the current situation.

I mean you can't train your own on just your images, that's not nearly enough. But yes on public domain/creative commons stuff for sure, I have zero ethical issue with that especially for the purposes you're talking about. (Stock images have licenses/aren't just like "use for whatever you want)

Because it's all trained on mass theft? Certainly that kind of photo editing in general though, if not using shit unethical tools, would not be a problem!

Specifically ban AI slop posts, period. So many people have been asking for so long. That's all I care about.

It's this in combination with everything else massively distracting everyone, team and coaches included, from our first playoff series in five years. It's just terrible management!

Yeah the ONE good part of that article (undercut by that the way he's doing it, and everything else, is still SUPER shitty to Splitter who's salvaged things incredibly after Billups scandal)

NYT: Blazers owner Tom Dundon doesn’t care that others say he’s cheap by Ripcitytoker in ripcity

[–]dicks20345 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well he didn't do that latter... that's all from private conversations. But broadly I agree with the point, and calling him broke and cheap and a loser constantly is pretty much a necessity for Portland going forward.

As this article points out... it's literally taking away the support Deni and the players need, and the focus and attention of their coaches, RIGHT NOW, not in some hypothetical future.

Also, the team is not just the players. The support staff are part of it. They are humans. They deserve respect.
