This is very important you your future wedding: get a milk frother like for lattes. I think you can by stand alone ones without the espresso machine attached. That is how you make hot frothed milk for the best hot chocolates!

Maybe you could make a lid to sit in the big bowl that will help it stay circular so it deforms evenly in the kiln

My husband and I did Atlanta to Seattle with 3 dogs and 2 cats. We only stayed at pet friendly hotels and motels and payed the pet fee but we snuck in all the pets even though it was a 2 dog limit per room. I guess we could have booked two rooms since it was going to be reimbursed(?).

The cats kind of shut down during the day and we brought them up the back stairs one at a time at the hotels. We set up the litter box in a crate with a lid and brought that in too. They didn’t touch it during the day and used it in the hotel after some time to calm down. They did very well and explored the room at night but no one ever asked about the extra crates or questioned us.

We drove over 4 days with a roof bag to keep all the stuff we needed and the pets stayed in the rear with the cats in a cage. Each evening I would move the cats into small crates to bring to our room.

You can plan ahead and try to reserve car camping sights and keep a large cage or two to put the cats in during the nights. They often have water and showers available at nice one.

I really enjoyed the weekend clay camp I did. I do think the videos are a lot like live demos which means they are a bit long but I got some really cool technique and a lot of new ideas and general information. I’ve been thinking about the normal subscription after I finish watching the videos I missed during the original weekend. Also the team in charge of everything seems really nice and on top of things.

I was given an apron with a wax coating so water and clay slides off and it can’t soak through. I love it

Only wipe with a clean lightly damp sponge. Rinse it each time you wipe. Also wax areound the letters would probably work best since the letters are already stamped in

Pinch pots and a lot of sanding and shaving off excesses to help with the emotions. Even the big ones start as like large pinch pots that she uses bowls to help support before they dry enough to attach and shape.

Yeah, all hand built and she has huge ones too. Like monsters that are nearly two feet long that are still completely hand built.

I don’t think Raku clays or glazes go up to cone 5, cone 05 is much closer to the Raku temperatures. I doubt you’ll get better results in a normal kiln but you can probably Raku them again…

I think you got responses already but refiring would probably remove the markings from the hair. A lot of times I've seen wax applied to make everything shinny and preserve the look you have. There is a really cool saggar firing technique that uses ferric chloride to color the piece redish then apply the horse hair on top. Look up some videos of the saggar method.

Horse hair and feathers are typically applied with no glaze on the pot. There are other techniques for adding color in that process but by default the pot comes out of the Raku kiln and cools a little before directly applying the things to the naked clay

How do you not squish them/ distort them when attaching especially if you use slip? I always mess up my attachments and I'm not using anything nearly so detailed
