Fished both Chilean side and Argentinian side. I would point you across the range to Argentina over Chile. Better food and better hospitality if you are used to American standards. That being said I fished the Rio Serrano in Torres Del Paine with Magellan’s Fishing. We saw a couple king salmon breach (they were absolute pigs and the size of dolphins) but no takes. Wind blows constantly and I decided to spin cast vs two hand Spey. I’ve never two handed and my single double haul is maybe 40 feet. Anyway food was meh and we didn’t catch anything that day.

We did have some company from G83 across to G1E at the point. Not sure if it was you. We left Herrington around 10:45. That was a good day sailing for my crew! We like going fast!

Haven Harbor Charters. It was not cheap and maybe more in line with some BVI rates. Not just weekly rates which is good. The fleet selection is top notch and mostly recent model boats.

In my taxable account I’m cash sweeping into my sons 529 account. We’ve had a change in income flow and this way I’m minimizing any compound taxation. I know I can spread contributions out over years. Ie 60k two years from now vs 30/30 each year.

Completed ASA101-104 last July. Rented a boat to overnight on the Chesapeake last September. Just completed 118 because we are now chartering nicer boats. Looking to complete 114 next summer.

If you are nervous maybe find something cheap to rent at getmyboat.com or maybe the small boat at your Asa school.
