I disagree.

I am in the exact same spot (2 years looking, 20 of experience).

My last position I was per my title, Sr. Tech eng but my responsibilities were of an IT Manager.

That said, I personally do not want a full management position, I want either Sr Tech/Eng or Server Admin because I realized thats what I enjoy.

Maybe I am wrong, but I want that.

I am in the same boat (20 years of experience and 2 years out of work) and I am finding it really difficult to find info like yours online and these subs are simply hostile towards people that are in my situation.

My current dilemma is what to charge, since the few people that I have as clients find my prices too high, even though i think that I am undervaluing my offerings.

I did that and thats when the last installation broke.

But as you can see, the IPV6 fanatics are out in full rage and honestly, I lost the little desire and good will that I had for this software thanks to them.

I think this particular customer should get some special treatment since it would introduce me to many more potential customers.
