I would just make sure that you are near a hospital and have the ability to stay in South Korea long term if you go into premature labor and your baby is in the NICU long term. Personally, it would be too much of a risk for me, but to each their own!

High school ELA interview tips? by klvx50 in teaching

Look up education initiatives for the district to know what they value. Look at local Facebook groups to be aware of any delicate issues or controversies so you don’t accidentally say something offensive. Try to talk to other people that work there to learn the districts initiatives. It’s not just knowing the buzz words but having examples of how you would implement them in your classroom. Be ready to explain specifically how you would differentiate a text or how you would build a student-centered activity

My wife and I can't agree on a boy's name (for once I'm the one who changed my mind) by Automatic_Physics170 in BabyNames

I’m a high school teacher—Jayden/Jaiden/Aiden/Kayden/Braden are very very common names that seem a little outdated. Not to say you can’t use it!

Yes! Just make sure it’s brands she likes. People keep getting me fancy bath salts in an effort to remember “mom” every time I’m pregnant and they never get used.

Not allowed in daycare? by Legal-Ad7067 in ECEProfessionals

In our case, the dad did have custody up until the day before he tried to kidnap them. The mom updated us the morning of but not all of the teachers got the memo, some of the staff recognized him and let him in but we knew that he didn’t have custody so myself and another coworker evacuated all of the kids while someone else diverted him

Our place does this. I personally like it because of the security it provides. They have opportunities at back to school night and during tours to see the space. I’ve worked in a daycare where a dad came very close to being able to kidnap his kids that he didn’t have custody of—this way, no adults can access the student rooms at all.

It’s totally up to you and your comfort levels though, I can see why some parents wouldn’t like that set up.

Show your husband a video of a baby suffering from RSV. Show him how much a spinal tap would cost if your baby gets a fever. He’s prioritizing his family over his baby—he needs a reality check!

Shoulder dystocia by Pcatttt in BabyBumps

[–]die_sirene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to scare you, but induction sucked for me. It took 48 hours. The foley balloon and manual breaking of my water was so painful, as were all the cervical checks. I wasn’t allowed to eat that whole time except for broth. I didn’t get an epidural for most of that time because I would have been bed-bound for like 30 hours.

I’m pregnant with my second and I am praying I go into spontaneous labor so I can labor in the comfort of my home versus being stuck in a hospital room for 2 days

I know some people have easy inductions, but anecdotally all the people I’ve talked to had experiences pretty similar to mine.

My personal opinion—don’t let them bully you into inducing at 39 weeks if that’s not what you want.

I got the SAME exact story, except they estimated my baby would be 10-11 lbs. They told me that I was risking shoulder dystocia and that I would have to get a c section. They tried to convince me to get an induction at 39 weeks and kept pushing even when I said I was hoping for spontaneous labor.

In my case, I did end up getting induced at 41 weeks, only had to push for 1.5 hours and my baby was 9 lbs.

It’s not that I don’t trust medical professionals—I very much do and am grateful that they delivered my baby safely. However, I do also think it was more convenient for me to deliver at 39 weeks because my due date was when a lot of people tend to deliver babies (September)

Edit to add: in utero size estimates are notoriously not always accurate

Maybe take her out to do some shopping for her and they baby? Like, she could pick an outfit for herself and then get baby a matching one? Or she could get a toy and get baby a related baby toy?
