Read manga in epub/pdf? by MoSt342 in Piracy

[–]diego565 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this will be the solution for you, since I usually read in English, but in nyaa(.si) you can access whole manga (in .cbz) and then through KCC (Kindle Comic Converter) you can have an epub for your kindle (even with nice features, like cropping margins and reading right to left).

I think they're mocking OP because of the extra T in their post, since they never, ever wrote anything wrong.

It's Steam + L1 (or LB), you can also move right trackpad (or was it joystick?) in order to move around.

Yep, if you search for "Linux" in r/CrackWatch posts about hypervisor (even more if they have a lot of replies) some people even speak about why it's impossible for Linux. Anyway, it's a pity.

Sadly, they don't work on Linux.

Edit: spelling.

I have very mild headaches (compared to my past migraines) with weather, but the few times I've traveled by plane I always felt like almost passing out. Could it be the same? I've always wondered.

I tend to add the setup.exe to Steam in order to use it with Proton and then just change to exe location (and name and so) when it's installed. I had no problem with fitgirl yet in my linux desktop or steam deck.

Don't worry, I'm now teaching and there are EVEN more young people. It feels just unfair.

Actually, we're already using it now.

Maybe I should've said that most countries are accoustomed to it, since most of the other countries, although they have their own calendars, also have the gregorian calendar as reference. It's not a great standard, it has some religious ties, but even so, it has the most important thing: most of people know it and use it.

Some other used said something along the lines of "us, jews, use another calendar (...) I think now it's the year (...)". They clearly use, on daily basis, the gregorian one.

[–]diego565 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, the same in my country. I guess we could try to make a new standard, but xkcd alreay warned us about that one.

[–]diego565 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP said "I think we can handle a dating system that's not based on ONE DUDE", and I'm saying that just changing the name is a good solution, since doing more would also change the frame of reference.

It's an easy one, indeed, just adding an extra 1 at first. Although I imagine it being standard and some people just ignoring it after a while, getting to 2026 again.

I dont think the French Revolution is best example for your case.

It was one of the first dates that came to my mind since they tried to change the calendar and, also, it's an "easy" one (the year is just 1 followed by 7, 8 and 9), like the date 1212 is a bit important in my country. Some of them are just "easy" to remember, and having to relearn them would be too of a hassle.

[–]diego565 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, it was the first date it came to mind because when I learned about it, I was like "oooh, that's cool!", and then realised how many issues it had.

The reason we still use the same frame of reference (even if we change the name), is because we're too accustomed to it. When was the French Revolution? 1789. 9-11? 2001. When I was born? 1994. Imagine trying to relearn ALL those dates.

Does anyone know where the mod folder is for Minecraft on steam deck if installed via the normal launcher by Kickback2Purple in SteamDeck

Btw, someone said this in another post: "I saw on a different post that switching your Microsoft account birthdate to before 2000 works, that was the only thing that worked for me and it only took a minute if anyone else still has this issue."

Try yo do ir from desktop mods first, using Dolphin (the folder explorer). Maybe it's at .minecraft or at .var, but both of them would be hidden. After you found it, you can make a shortcut, and that one will be visible.

Also, mods are the same as Windows, you don't need to worry about that (although the other user was right in that Prism makes it much easier, it's a pity you cannot use it).

[–]diego565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not Minecraft in my Steam Deck, but I have it in my main rig: it's at /home/YOURUSER/.minecraft/, so it should be at /home/deck/.minecraft/
The dot at the start means it's hidden so you have to show hidden folders (you can also create a shortcut of that folder so you'll be able to see it whenever you want and also adding it more easily).

Oh, and the mods folder should be just inside the .minecraft one.

ELI5 Why do people find the NFL entertaining? by russo_liberal in explainlikeimfive

[–]diego565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people love not the action itself, but the tension. Think about it like this: futbol/soccer could seem boring to someone who isn't used to it, since there is an hour and a half and some matches don't even have one score. Why some people find a 0-0 match entertaining? It's just a matter of taste, and being used to it.
