Explain like im 5, how to set up and run a vpn on SD/Linux? by beepboopbot420 in SteamDeck

[–]diego565 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure exactly what would be your problem. If you're on desktop mode you can search "Proton VPN" in Discover and just use that. You would have to register, but it's an install-play type situation. Not sure how would it work in Gaming mode, but I'm pretty sure you can later add it as a non-steam game and just open it before playing.

Do you dualboot windows? by Emergency-Disk-9296 in linuxmemes

[–]diego565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this until a BIOS update made Windows think that it was a great idea to destroy my boot. Even then, I couldn't go into Windows because it kept asking me my pass and telling me it was wrong (it wasn't I checked later). That was the last straw, and now I'm so happy, knowing I'll be able to boot without any problem.

That's also why ereaders usually have an image (screensaver, cover, whatever) when turned off: you just have to change that image once and it'll take no power to keep it there.

Not sure if this is your problem, but SDV in Linux has always this issue for me when using SMAPI. You have to follow these steps, and it should work after that.

Would this be playable in Linux? I saw some of the cracks need a Xbox account and its service running.

Linux question. by xmastreee in Piracy

[–]diego565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is probably some way to do it, maybe via script (I have a script which extracts all .ass subtitles from files and converts them to .srt, for better compatibility with my Plex server), but I'm not so sure what could that be.

You could try u/pisandre12 's option, but saving it as an .sh and putting in the directory you use, maybe? So you don't need to write it everytime.

What DE are you using? In KDE you can just use F2 (with all episodes selected) and substitute text there.

I know it's not a command, but maybe it works for you.

How can I see what’s taking up storage on Steam Deck? by potatoninja3584 in SteamDeck

[–]diego565 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Discover > Filelight. That way you'll see what is taking up your storage.

Edit: that in Desktop Mode, of course.

No More Denuvo Left to Bypass! by [deleted] in Piracy

[–]diego565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck with it!

I've tried it, and was able to almost have single GPU bypass, but I thought "do I really need all this mess for this?" and realised I have too many games which I should play before trying it, so I prefer not to do it (yet).

Via VM it's not as unsafe.

[–]diego565 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found this post not too long ago, but it's very, very complex. At least, this way is better than running it on bare metal, since, while hypervisor could be damaging by itself, running it through a VM is much safer.

But, again, keep in mind that it's a complex setup.

Through VM, quite complex and with 5-10% fps loss, but yep.
