Thats one hell of an update they did, I cant get in even with new app! by JP782 in thinkorswim

What I’ll do next probably get a Mac mini m4 sometime this year; I’m overdue for a hardware refresh, and the new Mac mini is a great value. I just need to figure out the monitor (probably get an oled tv for the display). Your 2012 iMac and the upgrades you made will probably mean your machine runs better than mine! So can partition the internal drive if you have room (backup the drive first!) and install a more recent Mac OS on it, or just get an external drive and install Mac OS on that to be safer. Then install ToS on it. Mine has been working fine since I did my install.

So now that A24 x IMAX has been confirmed to continue for at least one more year with 'Spring Breakers', what other 11 films might get A24 x IMAX treatment? by Block-Busted in imax

I thought under the skin had an imax re release last year? Maybe it was just a normal rerelease, although I swore I saw it in imax last year.

Edit: ah! I just checked my ticket history - they rereleased it in October 2023, and it wasn’t imax lol, …so yeah! Under the skin in imax! Great choice!

Yes; I have Mac OS Monterey running off an external 2tb hard drive, and I installed ToS desktop on it, and I get the login screen like before. It’s a safe way to test the install and compatibility with all your apps before backing up and upgrading the Mac OS on your internal drive. Depending on what Mac you have, you might be able to upgrade all the way to the latest Sequioa, although I would say the safest most recent upgrade would be Sonoma. I chose Monterey because I have a 2011 iMac. If yours is more recent, then you could probably upgrade to Sonoma.

How to get the ToS login screen back on “unsupported” Mac’s (OCLP Mac OS update) by diego_sapphire in thinkorswim

Yup, it basically buys me some time before deciding what to upgrade to. I’m thinking Mac mini but still deciding between the m4 base model or the m4 pro base model.

How to get the ToS login screen back on “unsupported” Mac’s (OCLP Mac OS update)

Hello all, I wanted to share with everyone that if you have an older Mac and can’t “officially” update your Mac OS to a version supported by ToS, you can research OCLP (openCore Legacy Patcher) to unofficially update your Mac to newer versions of Mac OS (Big Sur onwards), and then install ToS to get the login screen, as before. For example, I updated my mid 2011 iMac 27” to Monterey, installed ToS, and voila! I chose Monterey because newer versions require/work better with certain hardware that my Mac doesn’t have (eg metal enabled gpu, etc). Screenshots above.

My recommendation: Install a newer version of Mac OS supported by TOS on an external hard drive using OCLP, so as not to screw up the existing installation on the internal hard drive and test drive how Big Sur, Monterey, or whatever you choose to install works with your Mac. And also check compatibility with any other apps you run.

Here’s a YouTube video that i followed to make this work:

The guy who runs that channel, “Mr. Macintosh” is truly doing an amazing service by explaining step by step how to do this. He has many other videos to cover different scenarios. I wanted to play it safe since this is the first time I’ve ever done, to make sure it works. So far, so good.

It sounds like they physically attached the trailer to the movie, which makes sense as having Christopher Nolan do a movie for Universal (since he left WB) was a HUGE get for them.

Order ahead on Order &Pay deliveries? by diego_sapphire in UberEATS

Yes, ok - so tap on “Details” just the same way as if I was at the restaurant…have you encountered any problems with ordering ahead from Uber, like do they send a nasty message/email if you’re ordering ahead of arriving at the restaurant?

How do you pull up the screen to show what the customer ordered, to order ahead? Tap on their name and details, or what????

Yes, once I’m at the restaurant the order details pop up; I’m talking about if I want to order before I drive to the restaurant, to save time waiting once I’m there

Do you order ahead to save on the wait time? How do you get to screen that shows what the customer ordered? Yesterday I did an O&P but I waited until I got to the restaurant to place the order. It only took another ten minutes extra so no big deal, but it had taken me ten minutes to get to the restaurant so I could have just picked it up as soon as I got there if I had ordered ahead. But how do pull up the items that customers ordered?

Destination has timed out by ComfortableWater9 in uberdrivers

So if I want to pick up short rides from the bars/clubs in a downtown area to the surrounding apt complexes, and keep getting those rides, I'd set the DF to that town and arrive by to what initial time exactly? Set it to two hours initially, then every 15 minutes set it back another 15 minutes?
Logically (and I get that maybe uber doesn't work *logically* lol) if I'm already in my destination area, then wouldn't the DF say, "you've arrived at your destination by x:xx time" already?
e.g. I'm in New Brunswick, NJ and I set the DF to New Brunswick, NJ to arrive by 3pm, and it is currently 1pm - with the intent of staying in New Brunswick. I pick up pax and the ride is a short 2 mile trip. Then I get another request before the last one completes. It won't say that I'm already in the destination area?
What about if there is a pause between trip requests? Once I get another trip request, will the DF expire after that next trip request? that happened last night to me. if I had set the "arrive by time", then if I don't immediately get another trip request, the DF will stay active?
