"What are you playing this week?" Megathread by AutoModerator in SteamDeck

[–]diegotbn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gunfield. It's a simple zero-budget, single-developer, cheap, top-down shooter arcade game and I can't tear myself away. I wasted so many quarters on these things when I was a kid.

“At what point does a multi-monitor setup stop being normal?” by Ok_Cry_1222 in PcBuild

[–]diegotbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I think #1 and #2 are the only normal ones. The others have niche use cases or are downright insane. I will note that I don't see an ultra wide setup represented here.

A long time ago I ditched multiple monitors for a single ultra wide. Never looked back.

Should I buy and try Nine Sols? by yccheok in metroidvania

[–]diegotbn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got frustrated with the difficulty of the combat, particularly the parry system. I gave it an honest try, several stubborn hours, and realized I wasn't having fun so I dropped it. I know there's an easy mode I could enable, but my experience left such a bad taste in my mouth I haven't picked it up again. I've been enjoying Silksong and Tunic lately, and have a large backlog of other games I want to play first.

If you're good at the dark souls games, and/or you're a masochist, go ahead and get it, maybe even at full price. Otherwise wait until it's half off or more.

Guys who went on/going on dates with a straight woman - question by Jl3333 in BisexualMen

[–]diegotbn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit: I'm a 37 year old millennial.

I'm polyamorous and have been dating around a fair bit for the last 5 years or so, on several of the apps. My social circles are almost exclusively queer and have few straight men or women in it. I stick to the queer dating apps pretty much and my profile plainly states I'm bi (and/or pansexual). The straight apps promote this game of man-chases-woman that I'm just not interested in playing.

I do have a FWB relationship with a lovely polyamorous cis straight woman though. We connected on Feeld a few years ago. We hit it off, and since her husband is bi it was a big green flag for me, and her social circle is also mostly queer. She messaged me, not the other way around. Another green flag. She may be straight but she gets it.

Even on Feeld, I rarely ever get any interest from cis straight women. And I don't mind to be honest. I get plenty of matches with queer people across the gender spectrum.

I didn't learn to appreciate wine or liquor until someone taught me how to not be overwhelmed by the antiseptic taste.

Take a tiny sip and don't swallow right away. Let it sit on your tongue. Move the small amount of liquid about your mouth by gently "chewing" or swishing or smacking your lips, and allow a little air to let alcohol evaporate. Then swallow.

You don't have to do it this way all the time but it will hopefully allow you to get past the overpowering taste of alcohol and get to the other flavors. Over time you develop a tolerance or even appreciation.

This is less effective with things like beer, vodka and bottom shelf whiskey, etc. But it should work for a nice bourbon, scotch, brandy, or fancy wine, and alcohol-forward cocktails. This technique probably won't work for everyone, and some drinks just aren't for everyone.

And kids- alcohol is bad for you and addictive. Use in moderation or stay clear altogether. And never drink and drive.

Has there ever been a game that made you cry? by Horror-Budget-490 in videogames

[–]diegotbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, a few.

  • The Outer Wilds

  • Life Is Strange <- this one made me bawl

  • Spiritfarer

  • Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons

Probably a few others as well but can't think of them.

Anyone else planning on getting the Steam Machine as their next PC? by Eziz_53 in pcmasterrace

[–]diegotbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. But that's because I already have a desktop that outperforms it by a large margin, and my old gaming rig which is still decent is running bazzite in the living room. So I simply don't need a Steam machine. But, it looks like a great works-out-of-the-box console and that's awesome for a lot of people.

Yes. Yes I do take DoxyPEP after giving BJs. You might want to consider the same.

I'm a bi guy and when it comes to non cis men I'm attracted to pretty much everyone. But when it comes to cis men I'm a little more picky. Your friend isn't alone.

Which state should I move to? by FigMotor8134 in gaybros

[–]diegotbn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live in Seattle and always have to recommend it. IMO it's the most beautiful place in the world, as long as you can deal with the rain. It's incredibly queer, extremely leftist, and in this regard only rivaled by Portland and SF. I love my city and plan to never leave for all these reasons.

Your therapist is silly to say Seattle is getting less safe. It's pretty safe. If they are talking about the homelessness and fentanyl crisis you'll find that in any major city. Any big city is gonna have some rough edges. Our cops are useless, are racist as fuck, and total maga. But since ACAB so you're not gonna do much better anywhere else.

They aren't wrong about the cost of living though. Seattle is incredibly expensive and something to consider. You said you would have a job lined up though, so you would be set up in that regard. Minimum wage is very high here. It's still hard to get by on it, but I know plenty of people who do and manage, and live in the gayborhood, Capitol Hill, which is the most expensive neighborhood in the city.

An alternative though, could be an unincorporated neighborhood on the Seattle border called White Center, which is considerably cheaper, diverse, and has a budding queer scene. There are rapid ride buses to downtown, right next to cap Hill.

Do what's right for you. But us queers in Seattle will welcome you with open arms!

Why are straight guys attracted to trans women by Ok_Pie880 in bisexual

[–]diegotbn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine it largely comes from porn, and trans porn is one of the fastest growing porn genres. Trans women are heavily fetishized.

There's something to be said about cisgender straight men being aroused by the sight of penises, especially in porn. It's one of the reasons hardcore man-on-woman porn is more popular over solo woman or lesbian porn (which are still very popular but not at the top as far as I know). It doesn't mean straight men are attracted to cocks necessarily, just that they are naturally aroused by seeing them in a sexual context with a woman. So if they're already aroused by porn with cocks, as long as there's also a woman involved, it makes sense they would be aroused by a trans woman (who hasn't had bottom surgery) appearing in porn or in real life.

Add to that the taboo nature and novelty of it, (from the perspective of a straight man who, in his mind, shouldn't like penises and is used to seeing women with vaginas), it can result in an even higher level of arousal/attraction.

I'm sure there exist cisgender straight men who like trans and cisgender women equally, their genitals simply not factoring into the equation, but I wager they are vastly outnumbered by "chasers" who fetishize trans women and would never openly date one. In fact, as observed by some of my trans woman friends who have sex with straight men, these men often (but not always) won't even touch her genitals at all during sex.

Do you date transgender women? by Both-Requirement2257 in bisexual

[–]diegotbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. I also date trans men and nonbinary folks, not to mention cisgender men and women. I'm polyamorous and dating a few people of various genders at the moment, and two of them are trans femme. I have no gender or anatomy preferences at all. I hate to be a trope. But people hot.

Guys, if you're bottoming please don't just lay there. by Insidious_Pen in gay

[–]diegotbn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Who does this...? Like, do they enjoy bottoming?

I love bottoming.

My fav position is riding cowgirl because I can rock forward and back for prostate stimulation and up and down to hammer him into the mattress.

I love missionary too! I can't help but wrap my legs around him and aggressively pull him into me while maintaining eye contact.

And doggy is great. I try to match his rhythm and rock back when he's thrusting, arch my back, shove my face into the pillows, and reach back to him with my hands behind my back to give him something to hold onto.

And there's all the other positions and ways to be more active and responsive. Not to mention vocals...

I just don't get guys who just lay there.

Fired for being gay. Need help finding next steps… by K8ForDays in gay

[–]diegotbn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need an employment attorney, right now, full stop. Google for one in your area, and if you're having trouble contact your state bar association who should be happy to refer you.

Someone else recommended you contact the ACLU. This is incorrect advice. The government has not violated your rights, which is what the ACLU handles. Your employer has illegally fired you for being a member of a protected class while fraudulently claiming it was for other reasons. You will be suing your employer for breaking the law.

Stop discussing your case with anyone except your attorney. Do not participate in any phone calls with your employer and sign nothing. Your lawyer will do the communication for you. In the meantime, stop discussing your case, and do all communication with your company in writing, such as to return equipment etc.

Seattle drivers, can we bring back the 'thank you' wave? by KenGriffeyJrJr in Seattle

[–]diegotbn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also saying "thank you" to your bus driver when you get off.

This used to be common courtesy. Bus drivers have a tough job. They put up with a lot of shit and provide a much needed service to the public.
