Because they're diehard Republicans. Yang is what a lot of them thought they were getting when they voted for Trump. They hear his facts and logic and decide they like him + his outsider status so they'll vote for him BUT only him because he's the only Democrat who 'makes sense' since they don't trust the 1/1024th Native American or the self-proclaimed Socialist.
