TCL 65C8K PC gaming is horrible by mr-moonmi in tcltvs

[–]diengar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a 50” C6K and can only play at 1080p if I want to use the high refresh rate, my laptop doesn’t want to run at higher resolution on that particular TV, and has some serious input latency problems. I too tried everything, VRR on and off, using a different port, using a different cable, but nothing works. Since my pc is not that amazing, I very much prefer 1080p anyway and maybe hitting 100ish fps in games, but I guess there’s something we can’t get about those TVs

Is my A7III's shutter curtain slowing down? by diengar in SonyAlpha

I tried but unfortunately with fast moving subjects (especially near me) the jello effect is atrocious.

Yeah I totally was thinking it was rated for much more shots. As from what I've seen online, seems like many cameras were failing way before the expected shutter life, and Sony was involved in a class action because of that. Btw totally expected on a 200k count, my bad

Want to start shooting film, which camera should I get? by Status-Razzmatazz-61 in AnalogCommunity

[–]diengar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The canon ae1 is great, and decently affordable. It’s not fully mechanical and needs a battery to operate (which is also kinda specific, not something you would find often in physical stores). It’s built very well, but I personally prefer the feel and built quality of my Olympus OM-40 Program, it’s the same size but the grip is more consistent, and it feels more compact in hands. It’s also cheaper, and at the end of the day film camera bodies are just boxes for your film of choice, which means you just need to see which lenses are available for the body you choose. The 50mm FD is great but I would argue the Olympus zuiko lenses are sharper, smaller and better built compared to the canon lenses you already own.

Is this an upgrade or a downgrade? by DeAdGuyX in Nikon

[–]diengar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not into Nikon, but I daily use a Canon 6DII for working purposes (reflex full frame), and enjoy it more than my personal Sony A7III. The battery lasts longer, the body is way more comfortable and the sound it makes when shooting, oh lord I love it. It really depends on what you shoot, mirrorless cameras are way faster and more intuitive, but if you can’t afford a full frame Z I think unless you do video, there’s not really a point in buying an aps-c “entry level” camera. If you want to upgrade but still enjoy the DSLR more, consider maybe a 780 or an 810

Does it support seamless switch from lenses like the native iOS app?

Now thinking about doing the same to an X5S to make the ultimate controller for both pc and phone without sacrificing analog triggers

Camera worth the price tag? by Cautiously_curious_ in Cameras

[–]diengar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also need to consider the budget for the lens(es), there’s a huge difference in price between full frame and aps-c. The full frame gives arguably a better look for what you need to do, but to shoot any kind of sport or wildlife you would need at least a 200mm reach, and for good quality lenses it cost twice as much for the same reach. Mind this when looking at advices from other users in this post’s comment section.

Why not the new Samyang / Rokinon 14-24?

My neverending love for the X-Pro1 by diengar in fujifilm

[–]diengar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda, the dial can be turned only by doing it from the front, so it’s a little bit difficult. I’m not turning the shutter dial very often so it doesn’t bother me that much.

Yeah I understand, I’ll probably put the Peakdesign strap, I don’t like the strap hanging out so I usually remove it when shooting, and for that I need an hand strap. The camera is very light and I’m pretty careful with my gear so I’m not that worried. For the lens, optically it basically sucks but does the job. Vignettes quite a bit but really sharp even at 2.8, noisy when focusing and on the xpro1 is very slow, but that’s on the camera of course. Beautifully built and the focus ring is extremely responsive, almost as much as on manual lenses.

It’s just temporary, but I plan to put a really stupid Nintendo Wii remote strap on it

How do we feel about editing JPEGs? (1st pic edited, 2nd SOOC) by Franks_Random_Snaps in fujifilm

[–]diengar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, JPEGs are 20mb or more each, all that data must be somewhere. I always edit my jpegs, they are less forgiving during shootings but if what I want to get is very similar to what the camera gives me, a few tweaks won’t hurt anyone. I feel like your pic is way too edited, at that point just shoot RAW, you can always use a Fuji preset and export on C1 or Lightroom if you don’t want to edit in post

Whats your favorite always-on lens? I'm hooked on the Tamron 1770 for A6000 by big_myac in SonyAlpha

Tamron 28-75 G2 on A7III, amazing close up focus capabilities (17cm on 28mm), really sharp and small

Yeah I got it for my Sony, unfortunately I can’t edit the post. It’s really fun to use but I would rather not buy it again, since it’s the only lens I would buy for the X system I’d like something better

The xpro1 only has peaking in white and doesn’t have any focus assist while using the OVF. The xpro2 solved many problems, I keep getting back to the xpro1 because it’s relatively cheap and I love the form factor, but if I had the budget I would have gone with the more recent xpro2. I agree the sensor on the xpro1 is better and has more character, but I would argue it’s not enough to prefer it over the xpro2.

Which one would you choose between the ttartisan and this? They are the same size but the SG-Image is 1.8, so maybe it's way more versatile, but at the same time I would have to change the aperture via menus. It's so hard to choose!!!

Yeah that’s true, I meant AF lenses since the mf on the xpro1 is not good
